Help help help terrified my sister threw up an hour ago and i'm so scared

Dont worry! Ive shared ALOT of gross bathrooms(student life) with sick people and dont recall catching anything so you should be OK.
If it means avoiding the bathroom unless youre desperate than do it! Otherwise, spend the next few days sanitizing the world off your fingers and you should be OK. It might be hormonal too...dont know if youre male or female but us girls go through an exta emet opportunity with our hormones lol cos alot of it connects to our tummies which sucks.

Take your mind off it.
Go for a walk or youll be wasting three days of your life in a panic, been there!

But all my siblings aren't very hygienic and I did put my fingers in and on my mouth without washing before I knew she was sick and I didn't sleep all last night for fear of suddenly waking up needing to vomit

Oh honey I'm sorry, but listen to this; I lived in a 1 bathroom house for 12 years. During those 12 years, I had one stomach bug and I was the one who caught it from pre-school and brought it home. My brother had one at least once a year, we all shared the same bathroom and didn't clean between uses when sick. I was heavily exposed for 12 years straight, and NEVER caught anything from him. I also shared a bed with my mom while she was sick, and didn't catch her bug. Just because someone in your household is sick does not mean you are doomed. The best thing you can do for yourself right now is stay positive, I know it's hard and scary, but think positive thoughts.

Wash your hands, eat your food, and breathe. Do you know for sure that she's ill? Could it not have been something she ate; food poisoning or something? Is she taking any new medications, antibiotics? So many factors can cause sickness.

Yeah she had a fever and everything and I'm still scared that one of my other siblings will get it or already has it and it was a while since she had eaten I think and as far as I know she isn't taking any new medications and I tried eating lunch I ate a whole Sloppy Joe and drank a juicebox but I feel awful I wish I hadn't eaten at all I'm scared taht she touched things with her unwashed hands

No one can say for sure that you have or haven't picked up what your sister had (And that's if it was even catchy in the first place, it might not have been, not all vomiting is contagious) all you can do is practice good hand hygiene and hope for the best. The amount of days I have spent in complete panic, terror and full on worry mode doesn't bear thinking about but they have all 100% resulted in me not being sick. In fact the last two occasions I was sick I was the first person in my house to be ill ironically. Try not to spend the next goodness knows how many days in a state of panic, it achieves nothing and it's 2 or 3 days of your life you'll not get back again. easier said than done, but please try to stay calm as the anxiety itself can make you feel sick the it ends up a vicious circle.

Sore throats have nothing to do with and no connection to being sick whatsoever.

sore throats and v do not go hand in hand unless you are a really little kid with strep. adults or teens do not get those symptoms together, usually. did she have a bad cold with mucus? if so, she could v from that but you may not.

I don't know what she has all I know is she had a fever and is still taking ibuprofen, and she threw up (before the ibuprofen so it wasn't that) and I'm still scared that someone else caught whatever that was and I can't think up an explanation for those symptoms other than gastroenteritis probably from noro or something......

how do you not know her symptoms? can you not speak to her for some reason? can you just ASK her what she is sick with? I am confused as to how you are so vague with basic details. Are you trolling us? seriously. I get that you are scared, but are you hiding in a closet or something? for 2 days? because in a normal house, you would here a sick person say "my head hurts" or something??? not responding to this thread any longer until you can explain these bizarre discrepancies.

Sure, very easily. I haven't seen my sister since that happened. Yesterday, I din't eat or drink anything, and today, I managed to make myself eat and drink at lunch and dinner. I don't want to be in her room where she threw up nor do I want to be anywhere near her.

And I know those things because I heard her throw up/my mom cleaning it up, and I saw her temperature on the thermometer (it saves the last taken temperature) and I saw the ibuprofen and times she took it on the counter. I've been in my room pretty much the entire time.

How old is your sister? Younger children often vomit due to having a fever, it's a way the body tries to cool itself down. This used to happen to my son a lot especially when his next side of calpol was due and his temperature had started to climb again. If you don't want to ask your sister could you ask your mum what she thinks is wrong with her?

She's thirteen, and she hasn't thrown up since as far as I know.... But the worst thing is, I get these moments of clarity where I realize it's been more than 48 hours and no one else threw up, and all this worry is pointless, but then I sink right back into it because my stress gives me a stomach ache. It's really sad.

I would say you're in the clear at this point tbh. Are you receiving any help for your anxiety?

Well I've been seeing a counselor once a week for about a month, and she tried putting me on prozac but I had a bad reaction, and she's really not making a difference and I'm only getting worse. I don't know what I should do especially considering I've become suicidal from stress over the last couple months.

Well about the Prozac, all drugs can give you initial reactions that often wear off pretty quickly once your body adjusts to them so unless it was something horrendous it might be worth giving them another try and persevering with them for a while. Or, there are alternative anti depressant & anti anxiety meds available that may be better suited to you.

Counselling may not be the right therapy for you, if it's the going over the past and trying to establish the cause of your issues type of counselling - helpful as that can be - then it's not necessarily the best way forward for extreme anxiety and Emetophobia. There's things like CBT for example amongst other therapies that can offer faster results in terms of practical solutions to your immediate concerns.
If ever you become suicidal again then ring whatever suicide helplines there are available in your country or go to the accident and emergency department of your local hospital.

Nope, I'm never trying that stuff again. No more antidepressants for me. There's always a little voice in my head going "what if you kill yourself?" so I don't even know what to do about that.

I am sorry, I don't buy your story at all. You are in the same house as your 13 year old sister but in your interactions with her and other family members have not asked ANYONE "so whats wrong with (sisters name)?" that is so bizarre to me and a huge red flag. you know she v once and you know her temp but nothing else? you are in your room for days so no food or drink or bathroom or shower or tv???

its cool if you want to troll, but at least be better about hiding it. clearly you are fabricating this entire story.

I tried asking my mother, but she just gets mad at me for being afraid. All my siblings are younger, so who else would I even ask? And like I said I barely left my room, although I will shower and take some unopened and untouched water bottles with me. How is this bizarre? I know I have a problem, apparently more than you can comprehend, because it gave me an enormous panic attack last night until 3 in the morning, and I can't ask my mom about my sister without her exploding. If you don't believe anything I'm saying, go away then please.

Also, I have my laptop and my phone and my books. It's very easy to just stay in my room alone all day.

I wouldn't want to leave my room or talk to anyone either. In October/November 2013 and October 2014 I stayed in my room and only left for food. I almost became dehydrated because I rarely drank anything because I worried if someone touched water bottles. Leaving to use the bathroom was hard too because we have to share bathrooms. I stayed in my room watching TV and pacing.
