Hello! I was browsing the web and found this site...I had no idea that so many people out there have the same fears as I do! I have been dealing with emetophobia for over 20 yrs now, and as most of you know, this time of year is the hardest time for all of us.

I look forward to posting to this forum and helping anybody out in any way I can. Over the years I have had to deal with several situations and my experiences may help some of you. I do have a question, hopefully somebody might know the answer. My partner and her son, whom I live with, came down with a sv very recently. Her son came down with it on Wed night, and then she came down with it Friday night...both of them V*. Both of them were the 24hr kind, as he was better by Thursday, and she felt better by Saturday. When her songot sick, I started my handwashing like crazy rituals, didn't touch anything, didn't eat any of the food they ate...pretty much avoided all contact from both of them. Then, when she came down with it on Friday, I stopped sleeping in the same room with her, and was a nervous wreck the whole weekend. Now it's Monday...and I feel good so far. How long does it take before the people that had the sv stop carrying it? My partner insists she's fine, and wants me to hug her and says she misses me. She has dealt with my fear before, but she hasn't seen me this afraid before, nor has she seen my compulsive behavior at this level. I talked to her on the phone and know she's going to want to hug and kiss me, as I haven't made contact with her since Wednesday. Just to be safe, I'd like to avoid contact for one more day, but she's not being so understanding. Do you think all the germs are gone from her and her son, or should I continue to avoid contact until tomorrow? I'm not as worried about the house, as I aired it out, changed the sheets, cleaned and lysoled everything, but I'm worried that she may still be a carrier.

Also, do you think there's still a chance I could still get sick? I was sooooo careful, and feel good so far...

Thank you for reading this, I appreciateany input you may have.
