I tried hot yoga, or bikram yoga last night for the first time. It was an hour of yoga in a room heated to about 90 degrees, so you sweat a LOT. I was so scared to do it cause my sis in law said she felt really nauseous after and had a migraine for three days the first time she did it, but now she loves it.

It was a lot harder workout than I thought it would be, and boy did I sweat. i had a slight headache after but it went away quickly, and I felt ok, got lighteaded and dizzy for a few minutes during but i just stopped and it went away.

However, today I am feeling a little bit icky. Part of it is because I am sore, but I also feel a tiny bit nauseous and almost like I am fighting off an illness. Has anyone else done hot yoga and if so what was your experience after the first time?

I don't know anything about this type of yoga. But, I am assuming that the sweating is probably to kick toxins out of your system while doing the yoga positions. (opening up all of the areas of the body and relasing toxins) So, it makes total sense that you would feel sick afterward. But think about it this way... You are releasing poisons and detoxing your body. That's great. You probably won't get sick. Lots of detox therapies make people feel off for a few days.
Sounds really cool. I wish I could go

Yeah, it was really cool, I hope to try to go a couple times a week - get rid of those toxins!!

Bex, don't worry about passing out, if you start feeling lightheaded just stop and sit for a minute, I had to do that too. Everyone says that only happens the first time you do it, then after that you feel great.

    I might go again tonight.
