Default General eating problems have come back!

Every now and again I go through phases of either purposely not eating enough or just don't get hungry at all. I know it's quite a common thing for emet's to go through.

Well, I'm having one of those weeks. Everyone has gone back to work so I'm trying to get used to being alone all day again. This has triggered the weird eating pattern. I can go the whole day from breakfast through to 6pm without feeling hungry. And then it'll suddenly all come at once and make me feel so weak and headachey.

I can't imagine this type of eating pattern is helping my insides. But I don't know how to trigger the hunger pangs during the daytime! I try to nibble but it's like my stomach isn't ready to digest anything so I get uncomfortable all day. Sigh.

I know what you mean, the same thing happens to me and in general I am less likely to eat if I'm alone (not even emetophobia related.) honesty, as simple and unhelpful as this sounds - I just force myself to eat. I like to plan meals out ahead of time that way I don't have the "what should I eat?" dilemma holding me back. If it is emet triggered I just remind myself that eating doesn't make you sick, but eating well is important to a healthy immune system needed to fight off illness. And I just force it down if needed. Get creative where needed - maybe you can't get a piece of fruit down but you can sip a smoothie throughout the morning... Things like that

I struggle with this SO much as well. I agree with what's stated above. Changing the way I think about food has helped. I constantly have to tell myself that it is fuel for my body and that it will make the phobia more bearable because if my brain has food it will work better.

One thing that has saved me - Ensure (though I hate it) and my bullet blender. I can put anything in there when it is easier to drink than to eat.
    I hope you are well.
    *hugs*
