I was at work today (Gymboree) and my coworker was feeling n***, so of course I freaked!!!! She thought she was going to v****, but she just kept right on working, then she went and ate an apple, but said that it made her feel worse. I went across the street and got her a Sprite and she drank that and still didn't v***. She said she was feeling a little better, she apparenty got better because right before I left she ate her Lunchable and let me leave 15 min. early!!! But, I had to share cash registers and phones with her and so I was hand sanitizing every time I touched something she touched and I would have Lysoled everything if she hadn't been standing right there. I really hope she doesn't have a bug and was just feeling better temporarily, because I would get it for sure!!!

    Donna 1216,

I think if she had a sv that there is no way she could have thought of eating anything. Plus you washed and used your Purell. You will be fine. There are hundreds of reasons people feel nauseous. People use the word very loosely, unlike us. Hang in there. I am sure it is nothing.

Yeah if she ate she probably wasn't really that n*. Non-emets tend to throw around the word much more then we do.

One year in physics class I shared a table with this girl who would say
"I feel gross. I think I need to throw up" every time she ate a bag of
Doritos before class (which, fyi, was pretty much everyday). It annoyed
the hell out of me but I eventually learned to just ignore it since she
always said that but never v*ed.

Yes, I think you guys are right. Non-emets do throw it around casually, even when they are feeling just a little off. Maybe to get sympathy or set the scene for being able to have a not-so-productive day at work? Either way, she definitely would not have been able to eat anything if she was that n*! Doesn't sound like anything to worry too much about.

I'm sure she is fine. She could have been a little dehydrated. I wouldn't worry about it especially if she ate.

Even if it was a stomach bug, you wouldn't get it for sure. It seems like we forget about our immune systems. Exposure to a virus or bacteria does not equate with coming down with the illness in all cases. If it did, none of us would ever be well, since we are always coming in contact with germs no matter what.
