Hello all brave emets out there!
I have been viewing this forum for around 5 years, but have just recently joined in order to seek support. I have a rather large dermoid cyst in my right ovary, and it needs to be removed. I am scheduled to go in tomorrow for a pro-operation meeting, and the surgery will happen July 4th. I figure tomorrow will be the time to let the anesthesiologist and nurses know of my emetophobia. I'm wondering if anyone else has gone under general anesthesia, did you do OK afterwards in terms of n* and v*? Also, I am going to request not getting a morphine drip, as I read this can cause n*. Does anyone have any suggestions of painkillers that I could feel more comfortable using? The surgery is a laparotomy, and I will probably be in the hospital around 3 days.. and even though I hate taking painkillers I know I will need them.
