I think I exposed myself.

I’m both pissed off and scared. Same story as usual, uncle had stomach virus August 11th, I used the restroom he was getting sick in, unaware that he had the virus, and went home shortly after.

Now, my mom’s car’s never been disinfected, so if there were viral particles on me, they’d definitely still be there I’m sure. I don’t remember if I touched anything other than the car door and the seatbelt and buckle, but anyways, we went to get food. I didn’t want to eat until we got home but there was traffic and my mom was getting food somewhere else. I was getting frustrated due to this and could feel that my food was getting cold.

Basically, I made sure to grab my burger by the wrapper and eat it without my lips/mouth touching the wrapper. While that went mostly well, it didn’t with the fries. I would pick the fries up by the very end and just eat half of it and toss the other half of it back in the bag. It was gonna well, until I bit one and my finger slipped and touched the inside of my bottom lip. I instantly got angry and spit a few times.


But I feel it’s too late and I can’t stop it. I’m honestly really afraid. I know I post about this a lot but c’mon, there’s no avoiding this. I was told by the people my uncle lives with, including my uncle himself, that he disinfected the restroom every time after using it. I like to look at the fact my grandparents had to share a restroom with him while he was sick and they never caught it either, however, I still feel that I’m doomed to catch it. I need advice, or reassurance. It has been almost two months since he was sick and since I, possibly, transferred viral particles to the car.

You are going to be fine 100%. The virus can last a while but not that long! Also consider, nobody else who’s ridden in the car has got sick. Please rest easy! I know it’s hard but you can rest easy regarding your uncle.
