    Default Freaking out over salad...

    Hello all,

So the latest in my emetophobia life is that tonight my roommates and I ordered pizza and salad from Dominos. The pizza had sausage and peppers on it and tasted fine, however the salad tasted fine at first, but about halfway through the lettuce tasted very limp and slimy. Now I am terrified that I am going to get food poisoning from the amount of salad I ate. I feel fine right now, just VERY anxious and kind of n****. It's been about 8 hours since I've ate, but I am still very scared. The use by date was the 16 which was the day I ate half of it on which is also freaking me out.

Food poisoning happens when whatever shouldn't be in your digestive system hits your small intestine, which is within 1 to 2 hours of eating. If you didn't experience anything at that time, you're golden.

The salad being limp and slimy is usually because it reached temps below freezing, froze, and thawed. That will not hurt you, I promise. I work in a restaurant and see veggies do this constantly because our coolers and too cold.
