Hey, first off, welcome secondly try your best to calm down, deep breaths. Keep your hands clean and try and avoid contact with anyone sick, if you can crack a window in your room. Try and get some fresh air.If youcan, use a seperate bathroom, if not, jsut be sure to keep your hands clean. This forum isgreat for tips and support.

Iheard (today on the forums actually) that over the counter Emetrol helps prevent nausea and V*.

Reading your post was like reading my own thoughts, I also have lost alot of faith from un-ansewered prayers to help me to deal with this phobia.

Reading your post has made me think of when this phobia begun for me at age 10. My heart goes out to you so much at this moment. Every word that you have written down was in my mind years ago. Thinking I would rather die than to vomit was so true. I have done things to myself to prevent myself of being sick. I prayed to God begging him for me not to be sick and promising things to him to answer my prayers. Don’t lose faith in him. Back then there wasn’t a name for this phobia, now there is and there are doctors out there who realize this is a debilitating phobia, you have a chance to control this.
The best thing you can do is wash your hands, keep them clean. Use paper towel to dry your hands. You should write down how you are feeling while going through this panic so the doctor can really feel what you go though. I did that when I was younger and reading it a couple of days later I was shocked of what I wrote down, it could help you with your doctor.
I was like you thinking of being sick ,it ruined my younger years to teenage years. I have found that I can control this phobia better now then before.
    How are you doing now?

First off, let's get you through the next couple days. Wash your hands before eating and after using the restroom, and most importantly, don't touch your face!!! That's how the germs are usually transmitted. Do lots of deep breathing, and tell yourself that you are safe. Tell yourself that over and over and over, even if you don't believe it. If it doesn't work tosay it in your head, write in down (I've gotwhole notebooks at myhouse covered with "I am safe." lol). It will help to calm you down, and get rid of the negative thoughts, at least for a while. Taking a hot bath is always calming for me as well. Try to distract yourself as well. Read a book, or watch a movie that you love.

After this sv attack is over, get into therapy. Find a good counsellor who will listen to what you have to say. Go over to the treatments forum, you'll find lots of good info to print out there to give to your therapist. I've been in therapy for a couple years, and have been working solely on my emetophobia since September. I can't believe how much progress I've made. The most important thing is to do the homework they give you, even when you'd rather play computer games (that's my biggest problem!). I never would have said this a year ago, but there is a way out of this phobia hell....it just takes a lot of hard work.
