    Hey Everyone,

I have a question.. Do any of you tend to have food allergies? Foods that upset your stomach? I seem to have a lot of them.. Dairy, peanuts some wheat products. But the more I think about it, the more I believe that alot of them are in my head. I have a feeling that I tend to look for stomach upset so much, that I believe I may have a reaction. And also, if I ate something once and had any discomfort, I wont eat it ever again. I am quickly running out of foods.. hehe... Hmmm, just a thought I had. Anyone else?

I think I'm allergic to bananas. I've never been tested, but for a
while whenever I'd eat one I'd get this weird burning feeling that was
kind of like hunger but different (not in a good way). It took a while
before it occured to me that it could be from bananas, but once I did I
quit eating them for a while. I haven't felt that same pain since so
now I just don't eat them at all.

Other than that I don't have any food allergies. I can even tolerate lactose just fine.

Just because something gives you some discomfort once doesn't mean
you're allergic though. It could just be if you aren't used to a new
food. Spicy and fatty foods can upset your stomach very easily if you
don't eat them a lot. Really there's no need to cut anything completely
out of your diet unless you repeatedly feel bad after eating it because
stomach pain could be caused by something else (other than what you
    ate).

i'm allergic to kiwi's. i used to use kiwi shampoo when i was little and my mom started to notice that i was breaking out in hives and my head was always itchy. turns out the kiwi shampoo had actual kiwi in it, and i'm allergic. i've accidentally eaten them a couple of times, or i've eaten fruit that's been around kiwi, and i usually get hives and bad stomach cramps. this sometimes happens to me when i eat other fruits too, that haven't been near kiwi, but i think that's just in my head!

While food allergies are common, associating certain foods with illness or feeling sick is one of the most common factors that emets have. It can affect how we feel physically even though we might not consciously relate the two things together at the time. I'll use myself as an example. One time I had peanuts from the shell and shortly thereafter I began to experience terrible nausea. Then I started to feel sick everytime I ate peanuts. Soon I began to associate eating peanuts with feeling sick. I must be allergic to them right! NO! I can eat peanut butter, I can eat anything else that contains peanuts and feel just fine. If you were to ask around here I'm sure you would find that most of us have certain foods we avoid for reasons that we well know are just in our head. Really doesn't matter if it's just in your head though because we still endure real physical effects. If you have repeated problems with one certain food then consult an allergy specialist to know for sure.
A special thank you to my daughter Alyssa. Your strength and courage gives me great inspiration. Where I am weak, you are strong. I will always love you.

I'm allergic to eggs. I actually can't get flu shots because they grow the vaccine on egg embryos!! Go figure.

    hi all

My son is allergic to eggs, dust mites, milk protien, and dog and cat hair, He also has bad asthma and like you said could not have the flu jab because of the egg protien which is also in the MMR vacciene, i have friends that are intolerent to certain foods but thier symptoms are different to an allergic reaction I also avoid certain foods because i assosiate them with beng ill however i now know that most of it is in my head i would probably ask your GP for allergie test but don't be suprised if they come back clear.
