    Hey guys,
i was just wondering if any of you with IBS (or others) could attest to this happening to you.

    directly upon waking..
my stomach gets like the butterfly'ish nervous stomach feeling..
and so imlaying in bed and my hands start to get a little sweaty..
and then i usually end up having tremendous amounts of gas..
and then i get up and it all goes away..
and i'll eat breakfast and do yoga and im fine the rest of the day..
but its ALWAYS in the mornings that it does this..

    whats up?

I feel sick every morning Liz- bloated, somewhat dizzy- I even throw up on the odd occasion (lol- and no, I'm not pregnant). I find that for myself the only thing that really helps is forcing myself to eat/drink something right away, while I'm still half asleep. This has been going on for me since I was a kid- my parents really had no way to guage if I was really sick or not, so when I wasn't feeling well I would be sent to school and told to call by first recess if it was still there.

Don't know what to tell you mate- maybe we just have fubared systems!

hi i know exactly what you mean! in fact, i had it this morning. i sometimes get it when im going to bed, too. anyway, i don't know if it's IBS. I was also looking at the symptoms of Lactose Intolerance, and both symptoms are pretty similar :S

anyway, feel better, and just know that ur not alone!!

I have had this, more often lately, as well. I have recently diagnosed myself as Soy intolerant after trial and error with many soy products, and that used to be what I thought the problem was, but even now I get the same feelings you describe many times at night, but always first thing in the morning.

In the morning, I usually wake up with "butterflies" as you described or I'm very very hungary. My hands don't start sweating anymore or I don't get nervous b/c I know when I get the "butterflies", I'll start feeling hungary in about an hour. It's normal, I think. I know a lot of peolearen't hungary when they first wake up. IBS. Now that's a different story for me. Lately, since my nerves have been all out of whack, I wake up with a stomach ache and end up having the runs. It's so annoying. I'm not n* or anything, but the pains can be a real pain in the ass. I try to read a magazine until the pains go away. IBS sucks.
