I was on the train a few weeks back and iot was fairly packed and people had to stand. There was a couple standing right next to me with their child (who was about 6 or 7). Suddenly the child started to get agitated, which then made me agitated, because the first thing I think of is - he feels sick!

Anyway we got to the next stop and I got up and said to the guy, does your son want my seat, he said no don't worry he just feels a bit sick!

'DON'T WORRY!' - Oh my god I wished I could be like that - I was out of my seat and in the next compartment like a shot! (I tried not to look like I was panicking, but I bet if there was anyone actually watching me they would have thought I was a crazy woman!) ha ha

I know he only felt travel sick and he wasn't sick because I could still see him from where Imoved to!

I so wish I could be so 'blaze' about people feeling sick - I just went into instant panic!

lol- my parents were very much like that. I have really bad motionsickness (as does my mom, to the point where asa kid she would vomit everytime she was in a car for more than 10 minutes- boy her brothers and sisters loved that). I also had a 40 minute car ride to elementary school between grades 2 and 6 because this one school had a great academic record. So, I would pretty much feel really nauseous twice a day, 5 days a week (and more if we went on car rides or took the bus somewhere). Generally, when this would occur my mom would reach over, put her hand on my forehead and say "no fever, you'll be fine. Tell me if you're going to throw up". No fuss no muss. No big deal, if it's going to happen it'll happen but until then let's just go about our business and get you to school.

I hope I can be the same way when I have kids- especially if they inherent the inner ear curvature that makes me prone to motionsickness. Hopefully they'll be like their dad, who has a stomach of steel and only gets airsick in really bad conditions.
