    hey eveyone!

my sister just had her second baby this morning (boy, 9 pounds, and he doesn't yet have a name lol). I am sooooo excited!!!!

    The only this is...

I'm going to the hospital this afternoon and I'm nervous. The last time i went (when she had her first baby), I was so overwhelmed and everything that I passed out (which was very upsetting and embarassing).

Anyway, does anyone know how i can avoid passing out again?

any help would be great! thanks so much!

congratulations!!!!! i've never really passed out, but my dad did when i was born!! two years later when my sister was born they told him just to take deep breaths and try to focus on the baby and my mom. it's hard to forget about all the chaos surrounding you but if you try then you should be okay!

Make sure you've eaten recently. That could help.

Hayley, congratulations on being an auntie again. That is so cool.
Focus on seeing your sister and the baby. If you feel overwhelmed sit in the chair and collect yourself. Just think that this is a happy occasion and you can't wait to see your nephew!!
Did she have the baby in Orangeville? If she did I can meet you there and go with you. You let me know!!

Hayley- I am a serial pass-outer (lol), and believe it or not sitting down and putting your head between your legs does help. Of course, you can't walk into the building like that, but if you do find yourself starting to get dizzy, definitely sit down and give it a go.

Bring a bottle of really cold water in there with you. I know right before I pass out, I get very hot- taking a sip of really cold water or placing the cold water bottle on the base of the neck can help with this.

    Congrats!!!!

PS- I agree with Japa- make sure you have eaten! It does help.

    UPDATE:

    hi everyone

i just got back from the hospital, and I'm very happy to say that I didn't faint!

I did feel a little light headed and shaky as we stepped off the elevator, about to go into the room, but then I saw the baby and all those fears and feelings went away. His name is Breydan Thomas, and he is absolutely perfect. Just perfect. I'm completely estatic right now

So, thanks to everyone for their support! have a good night!

I've never passed out so I don't really know how to give advice there.

Make sure your blood sugar doesn't get too low. That's about all I know about it.
