Grandma died tonight

Sunday night; I just got off the phone with my Dad,Grandma passed away at 8:20pm tonight. My Dad is calling me tomorrow to let me know when we are going down.
I want to thank all of you for helping me out these past days. Your heart felt words helped and touched me.
I know the next couple of days will be hard, right now I just need to cry and let it out and thank God for taking her. Edited by: ontariogirl

Thanks to you all. We are going down on Tuesday, my father and I.
My Mom called me and said she was right by Grandma's (her Mom)side when she died. She said that she had her cry and is ok. Boy, this is going to be rough.

I just saw this topic and I had to post my condolences(sp?) my grandmother is currently in the last stage as well, so I know exaclty how you feel.

It robs a person of so much, first their memory, then their mind, their body functions, and dignity. My heart goes out to you because soon I know I'll be in your shoes.

there comes a point when you just wish all the suffering would end, and its just so sad. My grandmother is lucky enough, that when my grandfather died, he left her with enough money to provide homecare, and my uncle spends his days and nights taking care of her, but she's at least with the family.

I can't imagine how you feel right now, no matter what anyone says it will be hard. Just remember what a strong woman she would have to have been to live as long as she did with it. I have no doubt she was a fighter, and very brave.

I don't really believe in heaven, but I do believe she isn't suffering anymore.

Thankseveryone, she is in a better place, no more pain.
Babydoll my thoughts are with you. You are right, Grandma was a strong person and a fighter all through her life right to the end.
I am keeping myself busy today, cleaning helps me so needless to say my apartment will be looking like a Mr.Clean commercial!!
I have to start thinking positive for the drive tomorrow, I don't need panic attacks on the way there. I hope Tuesday comes slow so I can get my act together.
