I havenot heard of anyone having svs around here in about a month, until today--my best friend just called and her 10 month old just threw up EVERYWHERE!!! And we were with my friend (the baby was at home with her dad) last night, and she was kissing Aidan and sticking her fingers in his mouth to feel his teeth, so now I am worried that she carried something from her daughter to my son last night. She said her daughter projectile v'ed. I am soooooo worried now!!!!!!!

Calm! Deep breathe! Well first of all you weren't around when the child was sick or after, so the likely hood of you or your children picking it up is so rare! Try not to panic before you really need to! Keep us updated though on how your dealing!

    Donna -

Is your friend sure it's a sv*? Try to remind yourself that 10 month olds can v* for ALOT of reasons! I wouldn't assume a sv* until you had consistent v* and/or d* every hour or so.

Hang in there and keep us posted...

    Donna,

I know it's hard, but really try not to worry about it. There are many reasons for which kids vomit so it could have been anything. Try not to stress.

If the baby was not in contact with your family I think you should be o.k. I know how hard it must be for you though as you have had such a tough time lately with poorly children. Try not to worry too much, but I know that is easier said than done.

I know, the chances are remote, but my friend DOES stick her hands in her own kid's mouth and then into my kid's mouth. . . my mind does it's own worrying. And now she just called to say that her daughter woke up from her nap and had a diarrhea blow out!!!

He should be ok. Really. I think things are dying down. I have heard of a few people having it but nothing like it was.

I am hoping maybe it was something she ate--they feed her lots of table food that I do not feed Aidan. She just barfed again, too. My friend really shelters her baby, but she forgot to bring her shopping cart cover to Toys R US 2 days ago and let her ride in the cart, and our Toys R Us is next door to the Urgent Care center of our children's hospital--she could have only caught something from that!! I know when I had Haley to the clinic w/ her tonsils we went over to the toy store to kill time!! SO maybe a nice considerate person did the same thing w/ their puking kid!!
