Ok, I have emet, obviously, to the point that when I see a pile of IT in a certain parking lot, I will alwys remember exactly where I saw it whenever I drive through the same lot, even a year later, the sight of it will still haunt me, even though it's gone.

Well, last night, my dog was in the hallway in my house, barking. I went to see what she was barking at, and she started acting weird! She was barking toward the hall closet door. I called for her to come to me, but she didn't wanna walk past the door. She then got closer to it, and started sniffing under the door, and barked again.I thought someone was in the closet, and started getting pretty scared! I looked closer, and saw a friggin' scorpion, with it's tail up, ready to strike!!!!!!! I got the chills, and yelled for my hubby to kill it. He swat at it with a shoe, but missed! It crawled (those suckers crawl FAST) under the door into the closet! I told him he better get it, because I can't handle the fact of a scorpion running loose inside the house! So he found it and killed it. EEWWWWW!!!!!!!!! Well, just like I'd do w/a V* pile, every time I walk past that door area, I look down and get the chills again. Now I keep looking at the carpet and floors, along the baseboards, paranoid of seeing another one!

I would assume, that this safely qualifies as a Scorpion Phobia??

Oh, and the exterminator is coming on Friday at 12:30!!Edited by: californiagirl

YUCK!!! I totally hate scorpians. They scare me!

You should borrow my doggy, chloe. She catches all sorts of bugs and eats them. I've seen her eat flies, beetles, spiders, you name it. I think once she ate one of those spit bugs from the yard too!

I don't do bugs much either... The bigger or the more dangerous the bug, the more I creep away!

OMG, that gave me the chills. There is a reason us northerners just dream of living in places like the southwest.... scorpions and tarantulas and killer bees and big snakes don't come up here!!!! The cold keeps the riff-raff out....

    Yeesh....

Eugh, I don't like scorpians much either I know how you feel though. I think insect phobias are quite common - I have a huge fear of slugs, myself, lol.

    I. Can't. Stand. Them.

Even just sitting her thinking about them is making my skin crawl! If I see one I'll run a mile and be paranoid that there's one on me, or something!

I'm sure you'll feel better once the exterminator has been!

I actually kind of like scorpions......my brother had one as a pet who he named Handyman- the handicapped scorpion (he was missing a leg and a half). It actually was pretty cool to play with- but you are also talking to the person who thinks that spiders, scorpions, snakes, and other creepy crawlies are cool.

I should have gotten into entomology.

YUCK! My house is infested with Brown Recluse spiders. Talk about the
chills. They live in my walls. I've had exterminators trying to kill them for
over a year, but I still see them every once and a while, and I have a
    toddler at home.

I would be totally FREAKING out. I freak if I see a big spider, and believe me we don't have really big ones here. The thought of a scorpion in my house gives me the yucks. *shudder* I will take a snow storm any day over that! I love canada, eh??

Well, I always thought my spider phobia was sever. I have called my other half home from work before to get spiders and daddy long legs. On it's own it is but when I grade my phobias on 1 to 100 this is what they are.

    arachnaphobia: 30 out of a 100

    heights: 20 out of a 100

    claustraphobia: 20 out of a 100

    emetophoba: 1000 of a 100 !!!

I have no issues with spiders etc because in my house my sister has a major phobia of them and so it's mostly left to me to deal. In fact I have to deal with a lot of the crap that happens in the house lol but never scorpians, boy am I glad to live in the UK!

I always thank my lucky stars I'm in UK too. I hate spiders, although it's not a phobia, but the thought of living somewhere where poisonous spiders can come into your home or garden - yikes! I'm pretty sure if there were poisonous spiders in this country my spider-dislike would turn into a phobia quick smart!

Charlene, I think you are still feeling like this because it's still fresh in your mind, I'm sure your fears will settle down after a while. After I've seen a big black spider in my home I find myself looking around for more for a few days until I go for ages without seeing one at all and then forget all about them. Here's something that may make you laugh - I bought a spider/bug hoover which gentle sucks the arachnid/insect up through a long tube, then you go outside and let the critter free, safely at arm's distance. My fiance (who likes spiders) thinks it's a huge joke, and I bet the neighbours have a good laugh at me too, but I don't care! Just wish they'd make a worm/slug/snail/caterpillar hoover as don't like them either <shudder>!

Oh God...ugh. My husband went to college in Hawaii and he said the roaches and spiders there were literally as big as his hand, and they ran so fast you could barely catch them. Oh geez, I just got shivers.

Eww Eww Eww!! I have a hugephobia of bugs. If I lived somewhere where the bugs were as big as my hand ordangerous, I would abosolutley flip my lid. Sometimes I think that my bug phobia is worse than my emet.

Igood: aren't those spiders very dangerous??

Yeah. They are. We have them in Florida. My hubby has seen two in the gym he works at, and they are huge. He said he was freaked out.

    EW,EW, EWWWWWWWWW!

I I am scaired of all bugs. Since I live in a pretty cold place I don't experience scorpions very much. One time a colony of ants snuck into my pantry and tried to steal my watermelon. I know they are small and flickable, (I know that is not a word,) but they totaly give me the creeps. I never look into the pantry the same way again.
