I never feel like this during the day, only at night usually. Yesterday I went shopping. I drove to the local town. I hate shopping there as the town is horrible. Its a real area of deprivation, drugs and prostitution. When you walk through the town everyone looks unkempt and dirty. The children are filthy. Everytime i go there im scared I will catch something, more so than at the local shopping centre where it is clean. So yesterday was the first time I drove there (i have only had a car for a week). I get nervous before i drive and horror of horrors i was desperate for a wee before i went home. I refuse to use the public toilets, the signs about drug use put me off somewhat. Insteadi went into a department store to use the toilet as i thought the grubby people won't go in there. I feel awful forsaying that but if they have limited personal hygiene goodness knows what they would be like in apublic toilet. Also i know its stupid to think that im less likely to catch something in the nice toilets, as anyone can get a stomach bug. Howvere, there was a little girl in there, only little, her mum was standing on the outside of the cubicle holding the doorshut for her. the girl sounded quite chirpy, not upset in any way and the mum was not in there 'sorting her out'so to speak. Anyway as they were leaving im sure the mum said something about stomachbugs and needing to stay near a toilet. I know its probably me hearing things but now im so scared. My tummy is all upset today.

mabey you heard just part of it. mabey she was telling the daughter something about being careful not to touch the toilet or floor because of stomach bugs. I tend to do thesame thing-I swear that no matter where I am. I can hear sv*conversations. I'm sure your tummy trouble is just nerves. as long as you washed your hands(i'm sure you did)you have nothing to worry about!

Try to calm down. This is the phobia playing tricks on you. I'm sure of it.

Hi nicky, hope you are feeling much better by now.

If not why not have a lovely bath with lots of smellies and try to relax a little. I usually find it helps.

I remember a couple of weeks ago being in a similar predicament, went to good ole sainsburysbut needed theloo whilst I was there, i thought I cant walk home before going or I will wet myself!!!Anyway whilst I was in there a girl was on her mobile saying how she'dv* several times in the night, I immediately went into panic mode, left as quick as I could and rushed home.Needless to say I was fine and it was my emet mind taking over (as usual)!!!

I don't know if this will help, but I wander through NYC ona consistent basis, and I always have to use public facilities while I am out. I do try and find the nicer ones, but I have been in restrooms plenty of times where there have been ill people. I have never caught anything from using these restrooms (I wash my hands very well, and use a tissue or paper towel on the door handle of the restroom). Little kids get sick all the time, and most people I know will just say it's a SV because it's a catch-all phrase for a stomach illness. With little kids, their immunities are so weak and all. I find a lot of adults will be ill because of something they ate that wasn't quite right, or a lot of international tourists with "travelers diarrhea," or too many mimosas for brunch, etc. These are my experiences in an everyday situation in an overpopulated city with all variants of personal hygiene. Meditative breathing helps me when I'm anxious and feel nauseous, you might try that (and the hot bath idea)!
Take small account of might, wealth and fame, for they soon pass and are forgotten. Instead, nurture love within you and and strive to be a friend to all. Truly, compassion is a balm for many wounds.
