I agree - sounds like it could be a migraine. Caffeine usually helps tame mine down, sometimes meds are the only thing that will break it though. Caffeine and chocolate are two good home remedies to use in small amounts during a migraine (for some people) because of the chemical reaction it has in the brain (my old college nurse taught me this trick and I knew people who swore by it!).

The last time I had a migraine was 3 years ago(knock on wood)and I felt like I was going to vomit. Even a bad headache that isn't migraine can cause nausea.

I suffer from migraines altho not too often as I tend to know what causes them, for me its caffeine (I have to drink caffeine free diet coke, ooooohhhhh lovely!!!) just as well Im not a coffee lover!!! Also too much cheese and red wine, fortunately white wine doesnt have the same effect!!!

The last biggie I had (probably jinxed myself now!!!)was Christmas Eve, got a migraine around1pm ish, felt incredibly nauseous all afternoon, but fortunately it cleared for Christmas Day (just as weel as its my birthday!!!)

Im sure its a migraine that your mum has so try not to wory.

I AGREE AS I'M JUST NOW ON THE TAIL END OF A BAD MIGRAINE. MY "TRIGGER" UNFORTUNATELY IS THE WEATHER AND SPRING IS HERE (MY HEAD WILL TESTIFY TO THAT). LOOKS LIKE A FEW LONG WEEKS OF IMITREX, MAXALT, RELPAX, MIDRIN, ZOMIG OR WHATEVER WORKS!!!

THEY CAN MAKE YOU VERY N* AND CAN CAUSE V* (ALTHOUGH I'VE BEEN FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO AVOID THAT SOMEHOW).

I HOPE (WELL REALLY I DON'T HOPE THAT IT WAS JUST A MIGRAINE BECAUSE THEY ARE SO DIBILITATING) THAT YOUR MOTHER IS WELL NOW BUT I DO NOT WISH MIGRAINES ON ANYONE -- EVEN AN EMET WHO DOESN'T WANT TO BE EXPOSED TO AN ILLNESS -- MIGRAINES ARE TERRIBLE AND UNPREDICITABLE AND CAN TAKE HOURS, DAYS OR WEEKS OUT OF A MIGRAINURES LIFE EACH YEAR (SV TAKES 24 TO 48 HOURS -- NO COMPARISON).

ANYWAY, I'M GLAD SHE IS FEELING BETTER.
