My daughter had a 5-hour playdate this morning, including lunch, and the mom just called me and said her daughter is v***ing! OH NO! Is there ant way she won't get it? They were holding hands, hugging, SHARING FOOD . . . OMG, I'm freaking out . . .

Is there a chance the little girl ate something that didn't agree with her - after lunch? Maybe she got too much sun (if she was out in the heat like we had today where I live, this would be a BIG possiblity --- it was 101)? Could she have a sore throat or too much sinus drainage? Did she run around right after eating something a little later? HOW do you know she has a SV and not something else??? Maybe her mother isn't telling you the whole story...

I would just keep an eye on your daughter and check in with her playdate's parents to see how the other girl is doing. It could honestly be nothing... or it could be a SV... but you won't know until you give it a little more time.

Do keep us posted. You will get through this and so will your daughter. *hugs*

Yes, there is a chance that your daughter will not get it. Her immune system could keep her from getting sick, so try not to worry until you have to. Even then, worrying will not help the situation. Try to hang in there and stay strong. You are not doomed and we are here for ya.

Could be the sv*. Just keep an eye on her. Hopefully your daughter's immune system is strong enough to fight it off. I would also ask the mom more questions like purpleteacher was asking. Those are important questions. Good luck! Keep us posted!! We are here for you!
