OMG--I thought that after the kid barfed in Logan's class on Thursday that all would be well over the weekend, but NOOOOOOOOO another kid threw up in her classroom today and she said other kids were stepping in it and all of those germs are now everywhere. I feel doomed. AGAIN.

    Poor you Donna

I know how horrible it feels when this happens, especially when it happens twice so close together. This was happening in my daughter's classrrom just before Easter. I hope your daughter stays well.

Ugh! I'm so sorry! I am feeling more and more like home schooling as time goes by. I know, a lot of people are going to probably tell me that is avoidance behavior, and not healthy for my kids, which may very well be. I have other reasons for it, too, the germ thing just cements it.

    Donna -

That's awful! You would think the teacher would keep the other kids away from it. This stuff should be done by now - YUCK! Where in the US are you? It seems to have really calmed down here (knock wood).

Oh Donna...that really sucks! Where is the teacher that kids were stepping in it. I know at my kids school, the teacher pulls all of the kids away from the mess. Did you ever call the school about the other child getting v* on the other child? I hope your daughter stays "safe" !!!

Would you believe that my daughter has just come home from school and told me that her friend was s* in her classroom? The worst part was that the little girl told the teacher in the morning that she felt s* and the teacher said she would feel better after lunch. After lunch the girl still felt unwell and v*d on the classroom floor. They let her lie on a little bed in the home corner and tried to contact her mum. Since they could not getan answer they left her in the classroom and got MY daughter to sit with her and keep her company. It was my daughter's first day back at school after v*ing at the weekend and now I wish I had kept her off for another day. Its never ending.

I dont believe these schools. Why did they not try another number to get hold of the mother or someone else that could pick her up?!!!

At our school we have to give at least three telephone numbers so the child can get home if they need to. Poor child being at school when they are feeling poorly. I hope Abigail is ok.

    Lots of love

It's not just the schools, it's the parents too. When their kids don't feel well they send them to school anyway because they don't want to miss work or forwhatever reason...........then of course other kids end up getting sick too which is how this stuff spreads so much. It's really annoying and quite disappointing!

Children get sick suddenly, we all know it. My son was fine last week while we were out for the day. He suddenly got sick. Literally, he went from absolutely normal to v** within minutes. We cannot fault schools, parents or children when this happens. We also have to know that these sudden illnesses of all varieties are bound to occur.

However, I have a huge problem with parents who send kids to school before they are fully recovered or when they are still sick. Its bad for the child and downright unfair to the the teachers and other students.

As for the teacher who tells the child she will feel better after lunch --- I am on the fence on this one. During the course of any given day, teachers will hear a myriad of complaints. There are also those children (my son being one of them) that are chronic complainers. After a while the teachers become desensitized to all the complaints. Sometimes it takes the drama of either a high fever, an allergic reaction or a v* episode to lend some truth to the complaint.

Hi Donna, if it's any consolation my daughter, she's in 3rd grade has had kids puke in her class and she has never got sick, so far so good, and i know for sure one kid had an sv, because she was out the next day. I tell my kid's when they come home from school not to tell me about any one who was sick, or anything "gross", so i don't have that to worry about, but they just think I don't like to hear gross thing......i used to always ask them if anyone was sick, and blah, blah, but that only makes me worried!! so i've been trying my best to avoid it, although yesterday my son teels me a kid in his class said he felt lik throwing up, and of course i had to ask him if he did and if he went home and he said no...so i'm still not doing all that great, but io'm trying at it really does help to avoid at least some needless worry, my best wishes to you and your family, hang in there!

This is horrible. Why don't schools isolate sick children? The little girl in my daughter's class was told to use the sink if she thought she would v* again. The sink is used to fill children's water bottles and all the water bottles are stood on the draining board on the sink. Yuck! I really hope your daughter stays well and nobody else v*s in her classroom.

I'm just praying that this isn't a SV and that it isn't making the rounds through the class. If one more kid barfs I am not letting her go back for a week. I will get her work and have her do it at home.

Ok, I don't know if this is a good ora bad thing--the kid that threw up yesterday (which was after lunch, about an hour or so before school was out) was back at school this morning, so hopefully he didn't have a SV, the school still sent him home again, though.
