My lower stomach is really cramping this morning. I'm not sure what is causing it. I felt fine when I got up and while I was getting ready for work, but a few minutes before I left the house I started getting these intestinal cramps. I felt kind of hungry this morning, almost too hungry, but I was alte so I had a glass of juice and grabbed some food to eat while I am at work. Now I am afraid to eat. I don't know if what I am feeling is the start of a sv, an IBS attack, gas, ??? I am still worried about catching my coworker's sv. So part of me is worried that I did catch it and that is what is causing this, but another part of me is worried that this may just be IBS or something, but I have been avoiding te restrooms at work all week and I don't want to have to use them now in case she is still contagious. This has been one of the hardest emet weeks I have had in a long time. Help!

I feel your pain....i woke up at 4am with cramping too, but i went on back to sleep pretty soon after and then when i woke up at 6 to get the kids up i soon had to go to the bathroom, and have just a teeny bit of d......so after i get to work and start drinking my coffee you can guess what happened...i started cramping again, and had to go have a major blow out...it was not d......but it was alot....i was probably just backed up some....i don't know....i feel sure mine is ibs....i hate it too, b/c you just never know when it's ibs or a sv coming on.......it's just part of everyday life for me...so i am kind of used to it, but i am always scared deep down inside, just in case....i hope you feel better soon. I know mine trip to the bathroom caused me to be even weak down to my feet...it was just one of those kinds of trips.....

I am kind of worried because my IBS usually starts out with a normal bathroom trip, and from there I get crampy and have to keep going to the bathroom. I haven't been to the bathroom with this, and I really don't feel like I need to. If it is not a sv, I am leaning more toward gas? It sounds horrible, but I feel likeif I could just pass gas I would feel so much better. I am startign to get hungry again, so hopefully that's all it is. I'm sure I have some nerves going because we are closing on the sale of our condo today (finally!) and I have been so afraid it would fall through because it has twice in the past already. In 3 1/2 hours it will be over! Maybe then I will feel a little better.

Do you have any antiacids you could take? Like tums or maalox or something.....i know you are pregnant right? How far along are you? It's not something to do with that is it?

I might have some Tums. I am pregnant, almost 29 weeks. I am about ready to be done too! Actually, my pregnancy has been pretty easy. I don't think this is related to pregnancy though. I have had some cramping that was related and this feels different. It really feels more like intestinal problems, but I am a little worried that it is something else. This may be a little TMI, but my husband and I had a little fun for the first time in a long time. He has been scared to to anything with me being pregnant, but I finally convinced him it was okay. If I tell him how I feel now he won't come within 30 feet of me for the rest of this pregnancy! I have a feeling that it doesn't have anything to do with it though. I really think it is more intestinal.

Poor man, you know how deprived they are when us women are pregnant...but yeah, i don't think it has anything to do with that either...if you have ibs....then that's probably it...you know how it is.....creeps up on you when you least expect it and i always try to just relax and let myself know that it's ibs and everything's going to be ok...just like this am...after my initial scare, i am fine now....and i know it was ibs......i would just take some tums...and try to start doing something to take your mind of your gut...i know how hard that is though. I go through the same thing every day.

With my pregnancies, I got extremaly gassy, with bad heartburn, and taking maalox max helped. It has an ingredient for the gas. I know how uncomfortable that can be. I hope you feel better.Oh, just wanted to ad that if you are hungry, it is most likely NOT a sv. Edited by: daffodil

I'm sure it's just your pregnancy hormones. I have been feeling the same way and have lot's of gas in the morning for some reason. My kids think it's really funny that mommy can make such loud noises! I chalk it up to the prenatal vitamin that I take before bed. It must ferment in my stomach overnight! My doctor said Gas-X was compeltely safe to take too and to stick with the liquid antacids. They are gentler on your digestive system and bowels than the tablets. I didn't realize they had different ingredients in the liquid vs. the tablets. Your baby is probably just pushiing your intestines all over the place too. I know I get the weirdest gas rumblings on the sides of my stomach up by my ribs, but that's probably where part of my intestines have been displaced to!

I know what you mean about the rumblings up the sides to the ribs! That must be where my intestines are now too!

The crampinghas pretty much gone away, but now I just feel awful. It is probbaly a combination of hunger and stress. Today has been so stressful at work, plus having to leave in the middle of the day to close on my condo. Everything is done now, though, so I can relax a little bit. I am so glad it is Friday!
