You know what? I lost a lot, but lately I've been noticing my pants being tighter...stepped on the scale and realized I had gained!! All the cute clothes I bought last summer just don't look right.

I am in the low range for my BMI, but have a really small frame to excess shows up. I wouldn't even mind if I didn't LOSE any weight, but managed to get more toned/have less flab.

Must be the chocolate and cheese binges. I used to be very good at watching what I ate, but lately have been on the 'anything goes' diet. UGGG!

Roofus- you should probably ask your doctor, as he/she can give you a good idea of what you should be aiming for based on your frame and other factors.

I would probably say between 100 and 120 lbs would be ideal. Perhaps right now you should aim for 100 (because even though that seems very low, it is still a significant increase than what you are now), and see how you feel and what the doctors say.

It scared me how little you weigh right now... you are such a sweet person- would hate for something to happen!

Roofus, according to Weight Watchers, the ideal weight for your height, is 125-131lbs.

I'm afraid to weigh myself , I don't want to know how much I've gained since I stopped Weight Watchers in January. BUT, I am really proud to say the I've been at the gym everyday since April 3, with the exception of 5 days. I do a half hour on the Elliptical, and a half hour jogging. I WILL keep this up, and keep track with you guys.

    Good luck everyone!!

This may be of help to some: Your frame really does have a lot to do with it. I know people wholook thinner thanI am, yet weight more because they have a larger frame.

I KNOW! it's only 7 pounds but I'm quite muscular (benchpress over 100lbs) and my body will not weight less than 150 without mass starvation. The only time I've weighed 150 was when I was working out 2.5 hours a day, 5 days a week and eating nothing.. ugh.

Ok, off to rehab my bum ankle...

i was talking to my friend who is on a diet every single day of her life, and she said her cousins nutritionist told her that you need to "trick your metabolism" in order to lose weight and keep it off. for instance, she ate healthy from monday to friday; no fried foods, no sweets, little carbs, and then over the weekend she ate what she wanted (in moderation, no bingeing) but not depriving herself if there was something that she really wanted. this way, her body didn't get so used to eating healthy so every week was like the first week of a diet for her. she lost 40 pounds relatively quickly. does this make sense to anyone? this is definitely something i could handle but i want opinions before i do it! my mom seems to think it sounds logical, but any other opinions will help too!

WOW Wing....you are already underweight. Are you sure you want to pursue this? Maybe you should speak to your doctor, because you really shouldn't lose more weight. However, if you did exercise you could probably build muscle/get more toned, which can change the shape of your body without losing weight (it may even make you gain weight, but you will look slimmer).

Blondie- in a program called "Body for Life" you have one day a week where you can eat whatever you want, no exceptions. My best friend did lose a lot of weight on this program (to the point where he had to put on weight because he started to look kinda like a cancer patient), but in order for it to work you really do have to exercise.

You can try programs like this, but the main equation to losing weight is still to burn more calories than you take in. No matter what the gimmick, you still have to adhere to that format. A program like the one your cousin mentioned would work, because if someone is eating healthy for the rest of the week, overall they will still be eating less calories than they had previously.

When I lost 80 lbs, I did have days where I wanted a chocolate bar or piece of pie, and I ate them. But I would stop at 1 chocolate bar or small piece of cake, and make sure that I kept up with my exercise. To lose weight you dont have to deprive yourself, but you do have to show some restraint.

wing.. i agree, You shouldn't go down to 90... thats too low.

one thing I've always heard is that in order to meet a HUGE goal, like say you want to loose 50 lbs, you should have a small goal set each week, so that when you meet that small goal, it gives you reinorcement to meet the next small goal, and in the end, creates better success than one huge goal that seems forever.

as well, you should eat something you really like once in awhile, or you'll get so deprived that binging is likely. Like tonight, I ate a chocolate bar after a hard emotional weekend, and a long week of walking.

you can trick your mind as well. You can still have things you like to a certain degree - have your tea with skim or low fat milk, satisfy your sweet craving with some fruit, etc.

    good luck everyone!Edited by: Babydoll

    Okay.. I'm in.
    I am 5'4" and weigh 168lbs.
My goal is 140 lbs. by October. (Actually, I even love my body at 150, so that would suffice, but I figure I should challenge myself a little more.

    Roofus,
How are the eating habits coming along? Maybe try keeping a food diary to make sure you are eating at least a little bit, regularly.

SNeezy- dont worry, if you work hard it will come off. I used to be 210, and at the beginning the weight came off pretty easily.

    I'll join in.

I'm not even sure how much I weigh right now. We don't have a decent scale and I am too scared to get on one anyway.

I'm somewhere around 4'11'' and am probably about 200 lbs. I know, it's disgusting. I'm losing weight, though, and trying to become much more healthy.

Isn't it amazing that the average woman is not a perfect 115 pounds as the media would have us believe? I am so glad to hear that so many women on this site are average realwomen.

I am my highest weight ever right now - 149 last I checked. I am somewhere between 5'4" and 5'5". The weight my body likes to settle at naturally is about 135-138. At 130-135 I'm lookin' smokin' but right now I just want to get back below 140.

Unfortunately my anxiety has been acting up again lately so I have been pretty bad about exercising, and my hubby and i have been moving for two weeks, so i haven't had much time anyway. The bright side is that because of the stress, my appetite has decreased significantly, so hopefully that will help me. My pants feel a bit looser already.
