I know there are so many skeptics about this sort of topic...about things being evil and possessed...like the Ouiga Board. (spelling?) I have the worst luck ever! Every single day something goes wrong with me and my fiance!! Everyday!!! It is so bizarre. He has had a really old ouiga board from like the 70's and its been sitting on top of our fridge...we dont use it at all, but he wont throw it away. he doesnt "beleive" in that sort of thing. But i am rally starting to think that it is evil and making all these bad things happen to us. I never went through a day where something hasnt gone wrong. Is it just a coincidence? Does anyone believe in things like this??

I believe in it and have done for many many years now, I study it and also practice it,I dont believe that everythings a conincidence and we all have an after life.

We all have different pasts and presents in our live's something that may actually have to do with our life's that we are living at the moment, only something that I believe in,I dont in any way shove this down anyones throat its just something i enjoy to study for myself.

About the ouiji board, once its used once its meant to be burnt and disposed of due to anything that may or may not have been unleashed into our world and may be able to get back in.

If you really think something bad goes on everyday for you both, you should go see a claire voyant,it may or may not work for you,as in you may or may not believe, but everythings worth a try once.

Its not always possible to break through and speak with who ever or what ever you connect with "on the other side" but if you do theres always simple rules to follow and if they have the board and what ever came out of using it should be fine.

1, always keep your finers on the glass/coin/or what ever you use, until you ask to be realised if you manage to break through.

2, never screw around with who ever is on the other side or think that its all for fun

3, if you manage to get through and something will unsavoury happins, destroy the board after its been used.

One thing ive always remembered when using them is this :-

Many people feel that Ouija Boards are dangerous to use. It depends on who uses them and the entities they attract. Dysfunctional people will attract dysfunctional entities and should never use a ouija board or channel in any way.

    MANDI~~

I do believe in "something", some sort of supernatural power. Get this: My Mom died in January of 2004 (I miss her soooo muuuuuch!!!!), anyways, we were leaving the cemetary where we had her graveside service and were on our way to the "reception" afterwards, and I was naturally crying my eyes out at the service, so while we were in the car, I was looking in the visor mirror, fixing my mascara tear lines, and when I was done, (we were at a stoplight), I put the visor back up, and the car in front of us had a personalized license plate that said NO TEARS. I felt so strongly that that was my Mom telling me not to cry!!!!! I got the chills so bad, so did everyone else in the car! Also, I got my little chihuahua shortly after her death, and was debating on whether to name her Sandy (after my Mom), Lucy (from the I Love Lucy Show), or LuSandy (a combo of the two). Well, my daughter and I, while in the car again, were discussing these 3 names, and then noticed the car in front of us had an I LOVE LUCY decal on the back window!!!! We had our answer! Was that Mom telling us what to name her? Maybe she didn't want a dog named after her lol?? I have never seen one of those decals before that, or one since! Now, what do you think of this??

Oh, and I will "feel" her presence somethimes too!! I will get a very strong sensation that she's there in the room with me, and I'll be afraid to look around, to see her(?), but at the same time, it is a very comforting, warm feeling that she's with me.Edited by: californiagirl

Im sorry to hear about your mother. I lost my father when I was very very youing..and I still get very sad whenever I think about him. I beleive when I still lived with my mother years ago that our house was haunted. Strange things always happened there. Iwish I could talk to my dad somehow. I hear that they can visit you in dreams. And Ive had dreams about him, where he said it will be ok..

Violet: I dont think Im going to touch that board! I dont want anything to do with it. I think its casuing a lot of problems for us. Iw ant to throw it away. But its not my right b.c. its not mine

An aunt of mine died about 6 years ago and something weird with that happened. I was at her apartment going through her things to pack up her stuff with my parents and we couldn't find any of her jewelry. Well there was this watch that she always wore around her neck and I remember whenever I would see her if I could have the watch. She always said "When you're 16 I'll give it to you" well she died when I was 16...that's weird. So anyway I was in her bedroom (Where she died) packing stuff up when I swear this little wooden box just fell off of her dresser, I was no where NEAR it. The box opened and inside was the watch on a gold chain. I immediately put it around my neck. I always thought it was weird that she wasn't wearing the necklace when she died, in fact we all thought she had been buried with it but there it was. Shortly after wearing the watch it stopped working. (It was the kind where you wound it up not a kind with batteries) and to this day it doesn't work.

My dad has always reguarded Ouiji boards to be powerful entities and not to fool around with them. We actually have one but I don't think he ever let us use it. My dad's a very spiritual person and he raised us to be like that so I totally believe in the possibilities of ghosts, and the supernatural.

About 2 or 3 years ago my cousin (my dad's nephew) had a heart attack (he was like 30 or something and it was unexpected) so he was in the hospital. My dad went to visit him and brought some holy water and his mother's rosary beads with him. Before he went into the room the doctors were talking about open heart surgery and replacing one of his valves. Well my dad went into the room, placed the rosary on his chest and annointed his forehead with holy water and said a prayer. Minutes later another doctor came in and said he had reveiwed the cat scan and there would be no need for surgery. God works in mysterious ways...

it may not be causing you any problems what so ever,it may just be some bad luck, ask him for the sake of your mental health to get rid of it,if he isnt going to use it again then theres not point in having it around really

like californiagirl said, i definitely think there is some sort of supernatural power. when i was 10 my friends brother, nickwas hit by a car and killed, and naturally his mother was devastated and refused to touch anything in his bedroom. it was left as is. no body was allowed in there except her because she was afraid of something being moved. eventually she'd go in there to clean and stuff, but only her. four years later she had a private session with john edwards, he's a medium and he had a television show for a few years (maybe he still does). anyway he knew virtually everything there was to know about nick. when he got hit by the car, he was in front of a blimpie sub restaurant where he had just eaten with his friends and john edwards told donna (his mom), what nick told him he ate for dinner! it was an ongoing joke in their family because nick ate it so often so i guess that came through with him. there was a lot more. very erie stuff, but it comforted her so much to know that he was okay. he even came through and said that he had something he wasn't supposed to have under his bed wrapped in a blue and green blanket and to pass them on to his father. donna found unopened beer cans :-) haha

i really wasn't a believer until donna came out and told us how powerful her session was and how he knew things no one else would ever know. it's strange to think about, sometimes scary but also comforting at the same time. a lady that works at this little jewelery stand in a mall i always shop in claims she's a medium and that every person has 5 or 6 spirits with them at all times. she's also known things about my friends and i that most people would never get just by looking at us or talking to us. i don't know. i didn't think she was very believable but i keep getting more convinced everytime i talk to someone who's met her!

I definitely believe in the supernatural. I believe in ghosts, and mediums, and I've used an Ouija board. I've used a couple different ones, and nothing bad has ever happened to me. The last time I used one, was at my friend's party last year. She takes it very seriously.. we all did. But it was amazing, I had been having a pretty bad day, and we used the Ouija board for hours that night. I felt so comforted, the spirits talking to me and my friends said they were our guardian angels... I just felt so safe and great, I really did feel that I was being watched over and protected. Oh, and we asked them if it would be alright if we could take a picture of us using the Ouija board.. when they said yes, my friend who wasn't using the board did with a digital camera. We looked at the picture, and there was a large shining orb right over the board.. it was amazing.

Blondie, your story about John Edwards is so great! I used to watch his show, I think it's so awesome he has that ability, and can really comfort people so much.

Though I would be worried too if I were in your situation mandi, maybe his board had been used to contact some dangerous spirits, if it's been around since the 70s. It would be a good idea to get rid of it, it seems.

Interesting thread! Californiagirl, the "NO TEARS" bit you mentioned almost made me cry, lol! That's really unusual!

I am actually abig believer in ghosts. We apparently have one in our house, and it's helped me come to terms with the idea of them. My house is very old, andthere have always been stories about it being haunted...I think it is, but our resident ghost has never frightened me. It sounds utterly daft, but I like to think he knows how scared I'd be, and so he keeps quiet!

But yeah, my parents have seen him O__O apparently he walks down the hall with a gas lantern. This just doesn't frighten me, no matter how creepy it sounds...we've lived here for 16 years, and like I said, not once has anything upsetting every happened.

i believe in the supernatural (in fast, there's a ghost-hunters marathon on sunday & me & eric are planning on holing up all afternoon & getting spooked out of our heads!) i also believe in karma & positive thinking - maybe if you get up in the morning & say "today's the day where i'll feel good all day!" don't dwell on what's right & wrong, because there's no saying what "right & wrong" are really, you know?

sometimes it works if you make yourself realize that in the long run, something that seems to have gone wrong doesn't matter as long as you're doing okay, you know?

    =)

    positive thoughts, lovely. positive thoughts.

I love love love these stories. I hope more people contribute to this thread. Nothing like that has ever hapened to me personally, but I have a few head scratchers from friends and family.

Story #1-My great grandma died a few years ago and left behind two daughters (my grandma and great aunt). My grandma was very heartbroken when her mother died, and she said she prayed to her mother to give her comfort. Well one morning she was in the kitchen doing something, and she felt a hand on her shoulder. She thought it was my grandpa so she turned around and no one was there. My grandpa was in the bathroom. ok, so she thought that was weird and told her sister about it. Her sister was shocked - apparently at the exact same time that day, she felt the exact same thing. They were both sure it was their mother.

Story #2 - My friend Colleen'slittle sister diedof a brain tumor when were all in high school. She was only 16, was diagnosed out of the blue and was given only a year to live, so it was pretty tragic. I asked Colleen if she ever saw or felt Natalie's presence. She says sometimes she all the sudden feels like she is enveloped in a warm blanket and it is this sudden feeling of comfort, and it goes as fast as it comes, and she knows it is Natalie. BUT, one of Natalie's friends had an AMAZING story.

The friend's name is Katie and she was living in New Orleans when Katrina hit. She was one of the people whose house flooded and she needed to get on the roof. However, she couldn't get to the door to get out, since the water was really high, and none of her windows opened. All the sudden she had a thought to try the office window. She always thought it couldn't open, but something compelled her to try it. Sure enough, She was able to get it open and found three of her neighbors standing there waiting to help her get out. She got out safely and rode it out on the roof. When she was able to return to her home, she was trying to find things and put things back together. Everything was destroyed. She found her Bible, zipped up in its carrying pouch just like she left it. In the Bible she had kept Natalie's funeral program. She looked inside the pouch to make sure nothing was destroyed - and the funeral program was missing. Guess where it was? Stuck to the window Katie escaped from. There is no way that program could have gotten out of the pouch as it was zipped shut and stuck inside the Bible.

weird!! once, i was at eric's house which is most definitely haunted, & he & i had had a fight & he was p**d off & went to take a shower, so i laid back down in bed & closed my eyes. about 2 minutes later i felt a hand brush the hair off my shoulder like he always does when he's trying to make me feel better, but i was still mad so i said "don't EVEN!" without opening my eyes. when he didn't say anything, i opened them & there was no one there! i went into the bathroom & he was in there still merrily showering away!

thought it was funny too, that the ghost had tried to make me feel better. >

GET RID OF THE OUIJI BOARD RIGHT AWAY. HAVING THAT SORT OF THING IN YOUR HOUSE INVITES SPIRITS AND THEY ARE NOT ALWAYS NICE.

MY 11 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WANTS ONE BUT I WILL NOT ALLOW IT. I DO BELIEVE IN SPIRITS (IN FACT MY DAUGHTER'S BIOLOGICAL MOTHER VISITS US FROM TIME TO TIME -- NOT KIDDING).

SO IF YOU WANT THE EVIL SPIRITS TO LEAVE YOU ALONE YOU MUST GET RID OF THE GAME -- AGAIN THAT SORT OF ITEM INVITES SPIRITS INTO YOUR HOME!!!

I have a ouija board- bought it for s***s and giggles in highschool, messed around with it a few times, and now have it mounted on my wall because it looks cool. I honestly don't see how a piece of cardboard and a little plastic pointer can be a source of anything evil, or any sort of "portal"- if any sort of supernatural "evil" exists, I don't think that it would need something of that nature to get through to the world. And ouija boards have been shown to be nothing more than people's subconscious' at work- the people that use them are the ones that make it move, not any sort of 'spirits'- don't ya think they would have better things to do other than hanging out at slumber parties or around a board game?

I honestly also think that the phenomena of "goodluck" and "badluck" are entities we create ourselves to give meaning to things that happen to us. If something negative happens that relates to you and it is completely beyond your control, it's mentally easier to attribute it to the phenomena of "bad luck" as opposed to it just coincidentally occuring. Even if something bad happens to you and it IS something you had a hand in, it is also easier to attribute it to the external force of "I have badluck, or this item gave me badluck" then to see how your own actions could have been complicit in this.

I also think a lot of those coincidental things that people attribute to "spirits" are simply coincidental occurences in life- but as human beings we attempt to attach meaning to things because it makes us feel better. I think that we, as a race, have the natural urge to explain everything or attach meaning, so when coincidental things happen (that may be admittedly freaky), we strive to make it mean something larger than it is.

But that's just me- I'm a natural skeptic, so I'm sure others will disagree. Everyone, of course, is free to believe what they wish.

I think I would make a good Dana Scully, lol.

Amber - while I know that everyone will have there own outlooks on anything to do with this or the after life ect, but, If thats the case then why do people find alot of other things to be connected with the supernatural ect, Book, houses, people.

A ouji board is just another "thing" to look into the other side and another opening, theres people envoking spirits,EVP(Electronic Voice Phenomena)Many different ways that have worked and there are studys with detailed reports that have been gone over many times by experienced philosiphers who still arent able to come up with explinations to some of them.

And no thats not there as a "persona attack" just stating a point about it.

We all believe and disbelieve in things in life but some things can not be explianed not all science has the answers for life, the past present and also what we can not see.

Still only my oppinion as well.

gosh i dont no how some of u could have even thought about having ago on a ouija board. i remember when my mum told me about her and friend having ago on one. and it scared the hell out of my mum. something happened and since then she has never touched one again.

I do believe in ghosts, and heaven and everything. there is so much prove that there is an after life. i also believe its not just out family and friends that still come to visit us from the other side, i also believe that if one of our pets pass away they also come to see us. i no my pets do. i always feel them with me. like if anyone said to me "are they with you right now" i would be able to answer a simple yes or no

But i no for one thing i would never touch an ouija board. it would scare the hell out of me lol

I would agree that most of the things that happen to people are probably weird coincidences, but there are a few experiences that would baffle Einstein. For example, I witnessed something really weird, I forgot about until now. I was staying tthe night at one of my friends' houses in high schoolwhen her parents were out of town. Her grandma had died recently, but I'm not sure if that has any relevance. Anyway, their blenderon the counter started running, so Emily goes over to turn it off, thinking maybe it was shorting out or something, but when she got over to the blender, she saw that it was unplugged, cord wrapped around the bottom. It had stopped as soon as she walked up to it too. Do you think there's a logical explanation to that?

Violet- I honestly think that a lot of things that get attributed to the supernatural have been done so because there weren't any other explanations readily available, or the person did not seek out any explanations other than "well, this house must be haunted". Wiring problems, shoddy construction or old deteriorating houses, or even the person's mind interpreting situations a certain way. I also think that since the supernatural has become a popular fixation within society (books, movies, etc.) that people are more naturally inclined to view things a certain way.

I also find that many serious scientists stay away from examining things of this nature because it doesn't fit in with their ideology or goals (it can be easily written off by a scientific mind as preposterous or not worthy of their time). So, a great number of the people who study this (the 'ghost hunter' phenomena) aren't really trained, and since they already believe in it theymay inadvertantly get or interpret their data a certain way to get the results that they wish. This can be a completely subconscious thing, but there aren't any measures in place to assure this doesn't happen.

There ARE things that can't be explained through science, but "science" as we know it today is still in it's infancy compared to how long humankind has been in existance. As more research is conducted, I'm positive that many things that people considered 'supernatural' will become attributed to natural scientific phenomena. Think about it- it's not that long ago that people who were suffering from severe mental illness were considered "possessed" by evil spirits.

And don't worry! I didn't view your post as a personal attack at all- I definitely don't mind hearing other's position on things, and you of course have the right to disagree with anything I have to say

I played with a ouiji board once. It was a disturbing experience, but I
attribute that to being in room full of terrified people. When in
    Rome...

I'm both a scientist and a spiritual person. My spirituality is more
analytical and... er, somewhat existentialist. It's hard to put into
words-- I guess you might call it an "understanding" of the bigger
picture. How every human, every insect, every rock and tree, fit into
an intricate web. Balance between good and evil (I hate</span>
those terms, but I'm outta adjectives here XD), being at peace with the
way things are. If I could go back in time and reverse all of the
emotional damage I've been dealt, I would refuse. If I could change the
fact that I was born with an inherently fatal illness, I would refuse.
That junkola is important. ...In a messed up sort of way.

I'm not doing a very good job, sorry. :x

I went to Catholic school (I don't mean any offense to Catholics here!)
when I was 5-7 and frequently got myself into trouble for a) asking for
a clearer explanation, b) disagreeing with the teacher, or c) asking
WHY. It took me forever to understand that a kid should never ask their
religious teacher "why." So I thought, "Fine, if you won't tell me,
I'll go figure it out myself." And that's what I've been doing ever
    since.

As for experiences... I have more spiritual experiences with animals
than I do with people. I don't feel very comfortable babbling
about it on a public board (I've said too much already, haha), so I'll
just sit back and read. Thank you for this thread.

angel13, your story gave me goose bumps.

The house that I grew up in was haunted, and you could feel it as soon as you walked in the house. It always felt like someone was watching you.

We had a phone in the back part of the house that no one would ever use. The phone in the front part of the house would always light up and say "extention in use". It was only my mom and I who lived there, and when this would happen, we would both be in the front part of the house. "Someone" would even walk around my moms room and sit on her bed. It would bother my mom more than it bothered me. I think it knew I would have had a heart attack if it did stuff like that to me. I had nightmares when I lived there, and I still have nightmares about it.

Sylvia Browne has very interesting books. I have learned alot from her. I never believed in past lives, or any of that stuff before I read her books. I recommend them 100%.

    ghoststudy.com has great ghost photos!!!!!

I have a couple of weird stories too.

My grandma died when I was 14, and about 6 months later, my oldest brother left to go to school. My mom drove him there and helped him move in and everything, and she was really worried about him. He was her first child to move away, and his apartment was kind of in a ghetto area. As she was leaving to go home after helping him, some church bells across the street started ringing, and they were playing my grandma's favortie hymn. My mom took it as a sign that she would watch over my brother, and she felt really comforted.

Also after my grandma died, I had a weird dream about her. It was really strange, because it had nothing to do with her, but then she kind of came in it out of nowhere. She gave me a really big hug and told me to tell my mom that she loved her and that everything would be ok. I woke up crying, and it still makes me cry. I don't know if it was just my brain or what, but it felt good to see her and hug her, and I did tell my mom what she said.

Nineuh, dreams are the way people on the other side contact us, tell us messages or visit us the most!! That issomething I learned from reading Sylvia Browne. My uncle died almost 4 years ago now, and shortly after he died, I had a dream about seeing his face in all of the Christmas ornaments on a Christmas tree. He LOVED Christmas, and my aunt and cousins were unsure if they wanted to even put up a tree that year. I guess he was trying to tell me to tell them to get that tree up NOW!!!! Wow so many peple belive in the super natraul. Does anyone belive in god?and healing by him?. My family is a christian family, so i've been brought up going to church, though i don't go anymore. I used to watch the god channel when i felt n* and i used to calm down if i was in a panic.

I mean i watch things like is it ghosthunters? or theres another program where they go round and look for ghosts and try track down spirits, but they did this live show, and all put there hands on this cup and it started moving, but you could see it was them moving it lol, i mean i don't know whats out there. Im open to find out about other people's belifs, i won't judge someone by there belif, i find that realy wrong.
    TEA!! IS AMAZING!!
    indeed it is! :]
