OMG--you'd think I would be safe going garage saling with my kids. I went to ONE garage sale w/ a friend because she knew the people having it. They were selling one of those cool race car kids' beds, my girls thought it was really cool, and were looking at it, and Haley climbed in it. Come to find out that earlier in the day a kid had been there with his mom and v'ed on it. Can you believe it??? That race car bed was the ONLY thing my kids touched and that is what the kid barfed on. There was v* in the street & everything. Now I have to just sit and wait--who makes their kids wash their hands after a garage sale??????? Why is my life w/ v* like Murphy's Law????

Poor you. Hopefully the bed was cleaned really well after the child v*d on it. I hope your children are o.k. and stay well. I also make my children wash their hands after going to sales. In fact i make them wash their hands after going anywhere, My friends always laugh at me as I carry a huge supply of babywipes everywhere. I hope everything goes well.

Donna, I am sorry you are having to deal with this. I hope your girls remain well. Maybe they did clean the bed after that child v'd on it. We could look at it this way too, how many times have things been v'd on that we didnt know about? Maybe this child was v'ing for some other reason besides a SV. I would hope that a parent wouldnt bring out a child with a SV to a garage sale, but not all parents think like we do.

Keep us posted!!

If it was outside in the sun, maybe the sunshine and fresh air killed the
germs.

Oh Donna...I thought I was the only one who had the worst luck in the world. Just today I was at the mall, and my mom ran into someone she use to work with, so we stopped to talk and she tells us that she is getting over a sv*. WHAT THE HELL!!! I slowly backed away from her...I feel for you. I agree with Lisa...maybe being outdoors, most of it is killed. What state r u in?

Awwwhhh... That is sad. I mean, I know kids get sick sometimes without warning. At least the person giving the sale managed to clean up the item and they probably put bleach or some other type of cleaner on it. I also agree with how the sun helps with the germs.

I know she cleaned the bed, but I don't know if she just used water or if she used cleaner. She was dragging it into the garage when we got there, so surely she wouldn't touch it herself unless she had cleaned it well!! I hope. . . . .and she had had her daughter out there with her before we got there, so I pray she had common sense!! I don't know her, so I don't know!!
