Oh man, i have made the biggest SV mistake ever today!

it was bowling tonight at work. So, naturally, everyone has their hands all over the balls. I left my sanitizer in the car and I couldn't leave to go get it, and all they had to eat was finger food. And I was starving. So eat the food, after touching all of these bowling balls that everyone else has touched! Then I drank from a can of pop that I think someone else drank out of by mistake. AHH! Now I think I'm getting a case of D*, probably just from the stress, or the horrible junk food I ate.. but I"m also feeling N*!!! I don't know if this could be from the D or what, but anyway..

    AHH! PLEASE HELP! I'm FREAKING!

I would think what you describe would in NO WAY mean you are getting a
sv*. First of all- is sv* even going around in your area? Any of your
immediate people you were with recently within the past couple of days
been sick with it? If the answer is no, I would try to relax and realize
these thoughts are irrational. I really think you will be just fine, but I
totally understand where you are coming from. There is no way you
could d* that fast from sv* germs, it has got to be from your anxiety. I
have had sv* twice in the past year, and each time it took 48 hours for the
    symptoms to develop.

Im gunna be scared for the next two days now, eek! Last week my boss had the norwalk virus, v*'d 16 times in one day and lost 10lbs. He wasn't at bowling, but now I'm worrying and being irrational...

Thank you for your reassurance though, it means a lot coming from someone else who feels the same way! I don't think I will get sick, but there's always that fear of coming into contact with someone who is a carrier (someone who carries the virus, but doesn't get symptoms).

I'm feeling a little hungry now, so maybe it was just some bad digestion. Thanks again!

I think the risk is very very small. If you think about it, most non-emets do this ALL the time without giving it a second thought - just think of all your work colleagues who did the same that night, and how many of them have become ill?

The anxiety wil have caused the d* without a doubt and the anxiety brought on by the d* will have brought on the n* - it's a vicious circle. You will be fine though.

I agree it's anxiety making you feel sick now, I don't believe it is possible to have symptoms immediately following exposure. Also I agree that non emets do that stuff all the time. Let me tell you about my brother, I love him to death but hand washing is not his forte. When he comes up to visit I have to tell him wash his hands before he makes a sandwich ... this after he has driven for 3 hours, gotten gas, bought soda (handled money the dirtiest crap on earth), smoked cigarettes, etc. NASTY. When he isn't here I'm certain he doesn't wash his hands all that often and he is never sick! When he's sick it's cold type things. So now that I've rambled I'm just saying the chance is slim, you don't do this all teh time, no one there was sick, your a healthy person in general. Maybe buy some cranberry juice and have a glass a day to give yourself reassurance but truly I think you wil be fine.
