This topic drives me CRAZY. I have become so fearful of foods and food poisining that I'm starting to limit myself to just certain foods. I read somewhere one day that rice, one of my favorites, could cause food poisining. Is anything safe anymore??

I've recently started eating as a vegitarian. I'm not REALLY a vegatarian but I freak out about frozen foods being contaminated (even if they are already cooked) So I buy the stuff withouth meat. I'm sure there are a lot of safe foods out there. Think of it this way, if it was THAT dangerous to eat certain foods they would have to put a warning lable on it. I'm sure that cooked PROPERLY rice and everything else is fine.

Susan, Rice is one of the very safest foods. I don't think anyone is allergic to it. Rice you cook yourself at home is perfectly safe. The only way you could get into trouble eating rice would be if it were sitting out for a very long time at a not high enough temperature. Doug
