Hey guys I got the idea from japa's post about a reading group ... and thought it'd be fun to have a book club on here ... like leisure reading books. I know we have a lot of avid readers from the favorite book threads so maybe every week or so we could take turns picking a book? We all have libraries so no one would have to buy a bunch of books? Lemme know if this is a good idea and something you'd wanna do or if its completely moronic.

I think it's a great idea. I'm in a live book club and this month we're doing Night by Elie Wiesel. The mother of one of our memers is a Holocaust survivor and is going to come to our meeting to talk to us about her experiences.

I would love to be in too! I tend to find an author I like, read everything they have ever written, then scramble to find the next one. Any suggestions would be fantastic!

Has anyone ever read anything by Dean Koontz?

LOL- you know what's weird? Right now I am watching Desperation (based on a Stephen King novel- one of my favourite writers), and one of the characters just said that they pretty much stick to Dean Koontz.

I do read some of his books, but find them hard to get into and somewhat anticlimatic. I also don't think that his storylines are as captivating or as unique as some of the others in the genre, but that's just me

Yep, count me in! I am in a real life book club as well, and we just picked "The Time Traveler's Wife" for this month. I have already read it and I really liked it!

Oh geez, I don't know which book to pick lol. Ummm, most people here seem to enjoy the horror/thriller type books so ... I've been wanting to reread some John Saul (maybe get a couple other people addicted lol) How about "Comes the blind fury" by John Saul? I don't really remember it too well (good reason to read it again? lol) but just a bit of a warning to those that have trouble reading about v* or some bloodiness ... he does throw it in there sometimes. Hope this is an OK choice? If anyone has a better one, I'm game. If not, enjoy ... he's an awesome author!
