    Hello everyone.

I'm pretty new and I was curious about what everyone elses safe foods are. I'm down at the moment because I've been listing though my own safe foods and I'm upset to find that all the foods I consider safe are fattening, I'm very picky about my foods.

    They are:

Pizza, Salami, Chocolate, sweets, Parma ham, Pasta, Steak, Chips, Ice cream, Cheese [ Only on its own, with bread or on toast. ], chicken.

I know there are a few more, I'll add them if I remember.

If one of these listed above has any kind of sauce on it I freak [ Unless its golden syrup ;D ]

When I was younger I remember sitting in front of a beaked bean for hours and sometimes when I'd go down for lunch I'd look at what was on my plate and then go back upstairs. x.x

Anyone got any tips for me in order to help me expand my safe foods? I really want a healthier diet.

You can't go far wrong with veggies and fruit. The onlyfoods I can face when I feel nauseous are mashed poatoes, tomato soup, melon, apples and tinned pinapple. Oh and toast with a little margarine spread on.

It's strange how we are all different - if I ate your safe foods as my main diet I would be feeling ill quite a lot as I can't seem to take a lot of sweet and stodgy food.

Try introducing different healthier foods into your diet step-by-step. For example do yourself a bit of chicken and with it add some mashed swede and potatoes (so yummy and totally safe!) and a few peas (never known anyone ever get ill from peas!) You could do yourself a small bowl of pasta with your 'safe' parma ham mixed in, also adding a bit of sweetcorn or cooked sweet potato - then melt a bit of grated cheese on top.

You could give bananas a try, they are good for you and so easy to digest - look at how tennis players will often grab a quick banana between games then be running and jumping about, never makes them ill!

You could try making your own healthier pizza - buy yourself a french stick, and spreadsome tinned tomatoes on top with a little grated cheese, and toast gentley or pop in the oven.

With your safe foods, try switching to healthier versions of them eg half fat cheese, sugar free sweets. Make your own 'healthy' chips - cut a couple of potatoes into large wedges and roast in the oven with a little olive oil sprinkled on them. I add mixed herbs and a little freshly ground black pepper when I do this - delicious!

Anyway I'll shut up now - could go on for ever about cooking and healthy eating!

I dont really have safe foods, but whatever I fancy I eat. This temds to be mostly pizza, pasta, garlic bread, steak, chips, chocaloate, crisps, chilli, indianand bolognaise, HOWEVER, I should stress that these foods must be cooked and prepared by ME!!!

I try to eat out occasionally just so I dont loose the plot completely but this is where I get VERY picky about the food and where I eat it.I then tend to stick to vegetarian simple stuff.

The things I wont go near are shellfish - prawns etc (my hubby loves them but hasnt eaten them in years becos of me aaaaaaaahhh bless him!!!) chicken (unless Ive massacred it in the oven) barbecued food, chinese food, thai food, rice, the list is endless.

I think life is too short to worry too much about health and food, eat what you want as long as you look abd feel good. (Hope I havent ofended anyone by saying that)

Thank you both for the advice!

Very good ideas tcSarah, though unfortunately I wouldn't touchpotatounless it has been roasted or in chrisp-form, and I wouldn't dare touch mashed swede.

I'm going to try your heathy option!
