Okay, so night before last, my sister was out of the house at her loser boyfriends house and she went out for a meal. But she calls about 10pm-ish and complains about not feeling well. I sorta panic at this point, as you do.

Nonetheless, she comes home, and the next morning (yesterday) she had d* a lot. She blames the "Pancake House" she went to, as she says the prawns were uncooked. Although we highly suspect her of drinking alcohol and it being a hangover instead, but that's another story for another day. Nonetheless, she spends most of yesterday being a drama queen and doing her homework sitting next to me while I'm on the PC. No v*, just d*.

Now I get a bit panicky and n* from time to time when she's sitting next to me, where I go up to my room for a bit and I feel fine. Nonetheless, I thought I was being super brave by sitting next to someone with a (potential) sv from eating the uncooked prawns.

Also I must add that last Thursday was my last A Level Exam (for those across the Atlantic, it's basically THE final school year exams) and I've been stressing a lot about them which doesn't really help. I've been eating a lot less during these exams and still don't feel super relaxed after them, but that's me for you.

I had quite a few n* concerns during exam season which wasn't quite fun and pushed up my emet somewhat during that time.

ALSO! I seem to have developed this thing about water. I only feel comfortable when I have a bottle of water at hand, because I have this paranoia that when I eat, it might not go down correctly and I need the water to wash it down. I think this has stemmed off my emet because of an "air bubble in throat while eating" incident with my father.

ANYWAY! To get to the point, I'd been having heartburn yesterday, fair enough, stress, blah blah. I slept well last night, despite my dreams being somewhat "blank". Anyway, this morning, my mother is all "Get up out of bed and get ready for school" (I'm terrible at this -_-) and I have a 5 minute lie in. Then I suddenly hear someone run down the hallway and I can hear the sounds of someone v*ing.

Oh dear. Panic shoots up somewhat.

Then I hear the toilet flush, and my mother comes out, panting somewhat. She sits down and I ask her if she's okay, and it turns out she just v*'ed suddenly, and she felt fine a while ago. But she says she had a bad nights sleep and when I asked her if it was from stress she was all "Hmm, maybe". My father (completely unaware of my emet as usual) is all "Well, she was ill yesterday" (referring to my sister) and for the first time in ages I think "oh god, what if I get ill?

Of course the first thing I do is wash my hands. But yeah, am I worrying over nothing? My sister having supposed hangover/sv yesterday and then my mother suddenly v*'ing for no reason this morning. Will I get it? Is it just two of those random events which play out co-incidentally with bad timing? Am I making a big fuss out of nothing? Any precautions I should take?

Somewhat of a revalation, as my mother said she was drinking a bit of wine on Sunday or Saturday which had been uncorked for a few days or something. She said the wine tasted a bit funny but she said she didn't want it to go to waste. Edited by: xexxhoshi

I think both your sister and mum's illness probably came from booze. I understand why you are worried though as you already aren't totally relaxed because of all the stress of your 'A' levels ( I rememeber those days and all the heartburn anxiety etc I had, lol!)

How come you still have to go into school if you have taken your final exam? Anyway once you are free from school, take some quality time to relax and unwind. Pamper yourself - you deserve it!

Haha, god that makes them sound like alcoholics or something. ._.

But yeah, technically speaking I don't *have* to go into school, but I just like seeing people there (for some it'll be the last time since forever). Also my mother prefers it when I come for loads of reasons, someone to talk to, support, someone to rant about stuff to, etc.

But yeah, when the summer holidays finally come I'll finally unwind once and for allI guess. >_> Oh and thank you for the reply.

It's probably from the alcohol, but if it were me, I'd do a bit more handwashing for a couple of days just to be sure!

Hmm.. Im not sure. I highly doubt it was the wine. Wine can sit out forever and be fine...just might be more potent. Sounds like it might be some kind of illness to me? I would make sure you keep your hands washed.

I think wine does go off after being opened and is best drunk within two/three days of opening (that's what it says on all my bottles of wine anyway!) but whether or not it makes you ill by drinking it after it's been opened for days I don't know. Fortified wines, like sherry and port, are stabilised by adding spirit so they will last longer (two/three months?). Spirits, like whisky, brandy, vodka, gin, will be ok for years and years after opening.

Bottles of wine always get consumed in the same day that they are opened in this house, so I've never got to find out, lol!

Wine has made my Mum v* before - it is quite strong I think. She only had a glass or so, but it didn't agree with her at all.

It's horrendous though, isn't it, what alcohol can do to you. I don't drink anymore, I did for a couple of years, just a little here and there, but I havn't for years now. My sis v*d all day on her 18th birthday, it was awful and so frightening, I thought it might never stop. I can't understand why people was to go out and "get p*ssed/out of it/legless" and suffer hangovers.

Reading posts like this make me realize how glad I am to live all alone...LoL. It's great cause if my sister is sick or something then my parents tell me and I just don't go over to the house on that day. It sounds like it could be the wine that made her sick but I'd be washing my hands a lot more if I were you.
