Ok I feel like I am starting to develop a new "thing" with being emet. When I was in the early stages of pregnancy I had such horrible anxiety and morning sickness. At points I gagged out loud and ran to the bathroom but never got sick. When I wasn't doing that I just felt the need to gag but wouldn't. Luckily that constant feeling has gone away however out of the blue I will start to feel like it and boy does that start the anxiety. It is awful. I rather feel n* then feel like I am going to gag. I know that I am not sick and that it is all anxiety and most times get over it quickly but it is an awful feeling and gets me worked up. It stinks because I am not able to take anxiety meds do to being pregnant which know those would help a great deal. Does anyone else deal with this feeling even if not pregnant? Any ideas of how to help it without meds? I found gum helps. I just hope after having the baby I will be able to get well again and get the meds so that starts working.

I can't imagine having the feeling frequently,.....I do sometimes when Im nauseated and feel that gurgling so to speak start to rise and I feel like Im going to gag....I usually stand, stretch my neck way up and bite my lip or rub my chest,...sometimes cause discomfort to some other part of my body to distract my brain from the gagging.....smiling...boy do I sound like Im crazy,....

I have 3 children and with all of them,...I was able to take phenergan, zofran and xanax with panic attacks. I did feel so quilty and hated myself wondering what kind of mother was I,.........but by the graceof GOd,...they are all healthy.

My son is 11 and very gifted and talented,....my daughter is 4 and very strong willed,....and my baby girl is just a gift......I took meds with all of them so I just feel that God protected them in my womb,....or maybe vomiting would have been more dangerous to them.....who knows....

OH,...try POP ICE popsicles,.....they numb the mouth and throat. I use to eat those like a rack of ribs when I was pregnant!!!!

get you some "sea bands" you can find them at any drugstore. They are about $6 or so. They had create a pressure point on your wrist and REALLY help with the n. Also Emetrol is good too. Y?ou can take a dose of it every 15 min or so. Peppermint gum is also good to help settle your stomach. Also:

    Chamomille Tea

    Pepperment Tea

    Ginger Tea.

    Good luck sweetie!

Thank you guys. Although it's not like the gaggy feeling when pregnant like it was...just anxiety. You know how being emet brings on those "things" that seem to change...like other panics...its just like that...if that makes sense. I don't suffer from pregnancy n_ anymore just anxiety. I do take Phenergran when needed. Don't know what I would do without it. I also take Xanax every once in awhile. I just try to not take it. My partner does not like me taking it incase it was to do anything but when the panic is bad I feel that alone would be worse. Seem to have to out way the risks. The doctor said the baby looked great and is healthy. It's just hard knowing those meds aren't really there for you..

i honestly think that katsamsmom is right..the peppermint gum helps me tons! and the seabands (usually used for flying) they help too!! i avoid teas personally but they work for some people! i have been taking Phenergran also only when needed, Brandon (my b/f) hates that i even consider taking any other meds when pregnant just in case it does affect the baby...even though the doc says she looks great-i know its hard not to take anxiety meds but i think honestly in the long run that will be better for the baby!!

Amber I get that anxiety gagging too. That is my most hated and feared part of my anxiety. The only thing that helps me besides Xanax is very strong gum, like Dentyne Ice.

It sounds like a lot of women nowadays take anti-anxiety meds while prego. I haven't heard of too many problems with it, especially if you just do it every once in a while.
