Have stated before that my boyfriend has some health problems meaning he v**** a lot. Today we were on our way back from the cinema and he said he felt ill. I immediately got him to stop the car, and let me out, and walked the rest of the way home so that I wasnt anywhere near him should it happen. I think I explained on a seperate thread how Ive been in the room on occasions. Im really starting to worry how I will handle living with him. I have been exposed to a lot of v**** over the last year or so but its not made my ability to handle the situation any better, in fact its made it worse.
Although he knows about my emet to an extent he doesnt understand, and Ive said Ive v*** when Ive been poorly, when I havent since age 7/8, in order for me not to seem "weird"
Obviously exposure isnt helping, as I have had more than my fair share. I dont know if anyone has any suggestions for coping with this. As if we move in together its going to be something Ill possibly have to deal with on a daily basis.

as a wife and parent....i have been exposed many times...and still have not gotten use to it. i do not think you ever will. my hubby v's alot from migranes...and the kids v at least 1 time a year. after it is all over..i think...maybe that was not so bad after all....then when it happens....my panic goes into overdrive and it is bad again. my oldest understands my emet...she is 11. and my hubby is pretty supportive...i have told my oldest i do not want her to be like me...she v's like it is not big deal..so does my hubby and 8 yr old. they just call me the "oddball" don;t let his stomach problems keep you from loving him etc.....

Yeah Ive spoke to him about it and he always says its no big deal about my emet, and Ive told him my worries about moving in/ having children and hes convinced that everything will be fine.
Ive tried the exposure route as far as trying to help myself is concerned, by staying in the room as long as I can force myself to, but I still have major panic attacks anyway so I cant see that helping, and Ive been to counsellors who have worked out the route cause, but havent really helped much anywhere else.
i dont want my kids to end up with the same problem, so its nice to know you have a family who are all ok with v*
