Well, I've been wanting to do this for a long time, but am scared. I'd like to know if any of you have tried this, what you used, and what your experience was. My sis did this and lost 12 pounds!!!! I don't just wanna lose weight, but want to feel "cleaned out".

Who better to ask, than fellow emets?? -- I'm sure you guys know if, along with the cleansing solution, do you need to also take a supplement that replaces the Good Bacteria in your intestines? I want to rid the bad bacteria, but am afraid of flushing out the good bacteria that will protect me from sv*'s and other v* instigators.

Any advice would be SOOOO MUCH appreciated!! Thanks :-)

Well, I had colonic hydrotherapy about a year ago. Lost 20 lbs and felt GREAT. A little gassy for a while, but healthy and energetic. I am not sure about supplements that offer cleansing. I have some, but haven't taken them yet. The great thing about just doing the colonic is that you remain hydrated and it happens just once instead of having to worry about pooping your brains out for days and days.

That being said, cleansing the digestive tract is a great idea for everyone. It's crazy to think the stuff that we have sitting in there. ick.

ANGLES~~ I heard it takes days, and there are methods that take a month, then there's the one where it all comes out at once, which is what I think SHIVA did.

SHIVA~~ Was it scary?? Expensive?? WOW--20 pounds?!?! That's alot of s**t (had to say it)!!!!!

It wasn't scary. It was $60 a session. They suggest you go a few times close together because the first time you are just removing the s***. The times after that is when you are actually getting all of the really bad stuff off of the walls of the intestines. The reason I chose this method instead of supplements is because it just sucks the yukky right out instead of having to go through die off and detox, which can sometimes make you sick. What I would suggest is taking the cleansing stuff to empty you out and after a week schedule a colonic to get the rough stuff off the walls without dealing with the die off symptoms.

But yes.. They say most people are carrying about 20 lbs of s*** in them. LOL!

I have been thinking about doing it for about a month now too but I cannot afford to lose 12 to 20 pounds. How often are you suppose to get them done once you start doing it?

I don't know how often. I think it probably depends from situation to situation.
Well, obviously you aren't losing fat, just s***. LOL! But, the idea is that once you remove the toxins and build up from the intestinal wall, your digestive system will work properly, promoting weight loss.

I think I want to try this, but with supplements. Can any of you recommend something?? What do i use to replenish the good bacteria? I wonder if yogurt would be good for that?

    Thanks everyone!!

What I have (but have not used) is Dr. Schulze's Intestinal Formula #1. My sister used it and thought it worked okay. She said it just gave her heartburn a little bit.

You'll want to either eat a crap load of yogurt or take probiotics. Some intestinal cleanses actually come in a twin pack with probiotics to take with the intestinal cleansing stuff in order to replenish the good bacteria.

Good Luck! You will feel so good after doing this.

I have been wanting to try this because I have IBS-constipation only. I always worry about all the bad stuff inside me. But I am also nervous to do it. And I cannot afford the weight loss either. I would like to have someone do it, like a naturopathic doc who can take any precautions needed. Let us know if anyone does it...........</font>

Ok, this may sound ignorant, but what is the real difference between this process and just taking laxatives? Do laxatives not get stuff out? Do they just turn new poop into d*?

Just wondering! I don't know anything about this stuff, but it sounds like a good deal!

The difference is that the colon cleansing sheds the lining of the intestines, and gets ride of all of the yucky build-up. The laxatives just make you poop regular poop.

Then why do models take laxatives to lose weight?

They do it to lose weight, but the actual cleansing make you lose weight because it makes you poop, but also has something in it to flush all of the icky bacteria that builds up in your intestines and bowel. The laxatives, to my knowledge, don't have the actuaal cleansing effect.

    andee,

i wouldn't avoid this kind of thing just because you can't afford to lose the weight. what would happen to someone inyour situation, who is underweight (?) is that your health would still improve because of this.

our intestines are lined with a velvety like coating of yuk. because of this coating, the minerals and vitamins from the food we eat cannot be properly absorbed through the intestines. by removing all this gunk- you will feel healthier, have more energy and have less digestive problems.

I know this probably isn't the same thing but I recently had to drink a fleet laxative and it flushed a WHOLE bunch a crap out of me LoL I lost 10 pounds! BUt I would never do it by choice cause I think it's too nasty LoL...more power to you if you wanna try it though.

So where would you look to find a good doc who can do this procedure? I think it would be under naturopathic docs. Maybe online?</font>Thanks Shiva, True..</font>

The one I went to worked in the same office as a chiropractor. She was suggested by a friend of my sisters who uses holistic medicine. Maybe just google local colonic hydrotherapy. (???)

Has anyone heard of Colo-Vada? It isa colon/intestinal cleansing system that lasts 1 week. This is the one my sister did, and said that all kinds of interesting stuff was flowing out of her.

She said that she regained alot of energy and felt very good afterwards. I just ordered it! It costs about $60.00. If any of you are interested in reading about it, here's the link:
