Yesterday, I had a really hard time waking my 4 year old up in the morning. I made a joke to my husband that I thought I needed to call the paramedics...After he woke from a nap, he felt warm so I took his temperature...99.7.

Throughout the day yesterday and all night his fever went to 103.5. Last night, he came into our room at 4 am acting crazy! I think it was the fever. It was as if he was on speed. Of course, I was thinking the worst...and kept torturously asking him if his belly hurt. He was crying because his head hurt so bad. He has been having really bad headaches for about a month now. So, this morning, I freaked out until my husband called off of work and he took him to the doctor.

A few minutes ago, my husband called and said they were sending him for an x-ray of his brain...the docs were worried about that most with the high fever.

I am so frustrated and dissapointed with myself. I should be there with him. I should be able to take care of my son without repeatedly asking him if his symptoms include a stomachache.

So of course, now my stomach hurts....it feels heavy like a lot of pressure between my ribcage...so naturally I am afraid I will get sick.

    I hate this.

I'm sorry to hear about your son. I hope he's okay. Don't beat yourself up over not being able to be with him. It's okay. You will be there for him when he comes home. I'm sure you will not get sick either, it's just the stress.

Oh you poor thing....i understand how you feel though, and i know it's heartbreaking to see your little one sick and then feeling like you can't be there to help him and comfort him...but believe me, he knows you love him....and as long as your husband is there with him. it will be ok. You will find the strength to take care of him no matter what if there is something seriously going on here. so, don't beat yourself up for this....you will be there if need be. Take it easy, and try not to focus on your stomach right now...if you can, stay strong.

You're not going to get ill - it's just all the stress. Don't worry about not being there for your son. In his mind it's probably a case of "Dad looks after me when I'm sick, Mum takes care of the rest" He knows you're a good mum. Hope he's ok.

    Thanks alot guys!

His brain scan was good and they are putting him on an antibiotic for some sort of infection...he just looks so sad.

And of course my little one has been complaining all day of her belly hurting off and on and now she has had an episode of d*

I feel like I am going to lose it!

But thank you for your support...it does help to know that you all understand.

    I hope you're right about the d*.

She seems fine..she is playing..and wanting to eat. Maybe it is just a sensitive stomach.

We just got back from vacation this past weekend so I am thinking the kids are just a little run down.

Well we are into day three of sickness with my son...he is such a wonderful child! As sick as he is, he has been an angle...never once complaining. I am still in panic mode a bit because I can't get him to wake up really. I got him up at 8. He was very thirsty for water and I managed to get his medicine into him. He immediately went back to sleep. I keep checking on him and he sort of responds by mumbling. My husband thinks he needs just to sleep it off.

As for my daughter Kendall, she had more d* yesterday but played and played and wanted to eat (as ususal.) She had another episode this morning but has been perfectly fine.

Thank you guys so much for just hearing me out, let alone the support.

Listen, you are doing just fine.....i agree that your son needs his rest...anytime you have an infection your body really needs alot of rest to try and fight it off. I think it will do him good to sleep. But be careful at the same time. I hope your daughter will be ok too, it's always scary when you just don't know what's wrong...and sometimes it's just they are having d and nothing else, and that's just it, it just happens...believe me, it happened to me last night, and i still don't feel quite right, but i will be fine i hope. I hope your son continues to get better each day...will he be going back to the doc anytime soon to be checked again? Take care...Let us know.
