hi sissy, no worries and welcome to the site :-)

To start a new topic, click on thw word "home" at the very top left of the screen, then go into the particular section you want to post in, for example "general discussion" then scroll down the page a bit and underneath the brown stripe that has the title of the section and above the list of threads/topics there is a button with a cofee cup on that says "new topic" click on that and away you go!
