Hey Chazz, my situation is almost the same but a little bit different. I am also 45 minutes away from home however I commute. I don't dorm. Nevertheless, I suggest practicing. Practice eating in public areas over the summer or hang out with your friends a lot. I understand how debilitating this phobia can be. I'm sorry you are facing these fears but believe me that is a good thing. Change is good. This may be really good for you. Feel free to ask me and message me anything as well at any time. I still struggle with eating in school. I usually eat huge meals at home before going to school so I avoid eating there. I completely understand that. That is something I need to work on as well.
Hi I'm a senior in high school and plan to attend college in the fall. It's only about 45 minutes away from my house but I am freaking out about it. My phobia is so bad I have trouble eating at home much less in public at school when my parents aren't in the next room. I'm so scared I'm gonna get sick at college and have panic attacks that will freak out my roommates. I don't want to stay in my dorm all the time when I'm at class but I feel like I'll end up doing that. Any college advice? Thanks
