Hi there guys just needing some reassurance, a friend i saw briefly yesterday hasnt long started a new job in an old peoples home.
Today she texted me saying she thinks shes coming down with a SV* and has been feeling rotten all day. Thing is im worrying because i hugged her yesterday, would she have been contagious yesterday? because im worried i could come down with something?

She could have been contagious yesterday, but if you didn't kiss her on the lips or anything like that you should be fine.

no i didnt kiss her lol i just hugged her, i was only with her for about an hour, but im freaking out and i dont even have no symptoms!

Nursing homes typically are vulnerable to outbreaks of norwalk-like
viruses because the caretakers do things like empty bed pans for a lot
of people and serve food and it's a lot of criss-crossing in a smallish
facility and proper hand washing and food handling is easily
overlooked. At least that's my take on it. I could be wrong.
But in any event, these germs are all around anyway. You aren't stuck
in bed and you know the importance of washing those germs off your
hands and I'm sure you've showered so all the yuckies went down the
drain before they had a chance to climb down your throat and into your
intestinal track.
