From my current understanding, under many conditionsit is the human body's natural responce to activate the vomiting centre, however, in many cases, this nausea and vomiting isn't even necessary, and does nothing to help you.
My question is can you really takeover the counter anti-emetics such as dramamine to stop thenausea and vomiting associated withbad sv's such as norovirus? What drugs do you all find most effective?

There are a few times when v*ing is necessary. These cases are things which you mostly have control over such as drinking to the point of alcohol poisoning, drug overdose, or poisoning. Not getting these out of your stomach through v*ing can kill you.
However, with things you have less control over such as food poisoning, noroviruses, motion sickness, or morning sickness you're right v*ing doesn't really help you. With food poisoning and noroviruses by the time you get to the point of v*ing the germs are already in your intestines so your body just has fight them off for you to get better.

Yes, that's correct. It's not necessary to vomit unless you've ingested a poison such as excessive alcohol, or other chemicals where inducing vomiting is indicated on the overdose indications. For sure, if you have any sort of virus or food-borne illness, then the problem is in your intestinal tract. It's only the huge immune response that causes the vomiting, and so if you could stop it you should. In the hospital there is absolutely nothing that they won't give anti-emetics for. Even with an overdose, they seldom "pump stomachs" anymore, they neutralize poisons with charcoal.

i find phenagran ( or promethazine) to be very helpful. I think it just drugs you up so much and puts you to sleep, your body cant even think about vomiting!
