    Re: Eating difficulties

Safe foods. When this happened to me back in 2013 I dropped about 25-30 pounds in the course of a month and a half. I refused to eat anything.

Slowly as I recovered I ate foods I considered safe....
  3. Re: How does it feel to vomit? (Extremely graphic)

I concur, the timelines don’t seem to match noro or any other sudden onset gastroenteritis I have ever heard of. Could be salmonella or E. coli, those have longer incubation periods but symptoms...
  4. Re: Is hair to eye contamination possible?

Be at risk for what? Contracting something like norovirus? I mean it’s theoretically possible but likely. For 16 to 18 viral particles to find their way double transferred from hair to eye would be...

    Re: Has anyone ever fainted?

Yes I have passed out once due to stress and dehydration. It didn’t have anything to do with the phobia but still a relatively scary experience.

    Re: Tv shows with V.

I used to feel the same way until I got a job in a plasma center and was forced to deal with people v in front of me on a weekly basis. Luckily I never have to deal with it directly, working in a...

Re: To Antibiotics Work for Noro?

Noro is viral not bacterial They would not prescribe antibiotics unless the believed the type of gastroenteritis she had was bacterial. And even then, they would probably let it run it’s course...
  8. Re: boyfriend was sick, need reassurance

    1) no. Your boyfriend was not contagious until he v and or had d. Noro spreads through v and d and not like influenza which spreads through other bodily fluid.

    2) 12-72 hrs is what I always heard...

    Re: Anxiety!!!

Well I could see it, depends on what you are eating.

As you recover from your sv, sticking to the BRAT diet is pretty key. If you don’t know what that is it’s bananas , rice apples and toast....
  10. Re: Would it help us if we knew for sure when we would vomit?

Watery mouth, favorite foods making one n*, dizziness to the extreme — these are some signs of imminent v* to normal people. But emets have a weird ability to stop from v* even when these telltale...
  11. Re: What are some "extreme" measures you've taken to avoid v* when n*?

I sit in the toilet until I have to poop. If it’s not d* that generally calms me immediately.

Re: Bit of a weird question...

I have asked myself that same question many times. What I landed on was we access the same ability that some people in martial arts use to brace themselves for a blow, the same ability that street...

Re: Bit of a weird question...

    Most likely:

Those times you did get s over indigestion may well have been an sv or some sort of fp. There are literally many tens if not hundreds of viruses, bacterium, toxins and fungi that...
  14. Re: I have been posting alot lately but I have a question.

Chlorine kills everything, including norovirus at those concentrations I am fairly sure.

Re: My cat puked in my room

you'll be okay. Cat viruses do not generally species jump, if it is even a virus, which is doubtful. They just throw up, cats especially. But cats can also alleviate anxiety; maybe you should try...

    Re: IES: Helpful or hindering?

It makes a certain amount of sense though jptk, simple because to a lot of people the emetophobia is the only thing keeping them from vomiting. Its completely irrational, but still...I almost kind of...
