    Re: Emetophobia + driving anxiety.

I encountered that some this past month when getting rides, haha. Suddenly miss panics while driving here (me) was holding on to the arm rest for dear life and internally criticizing other people's...
  2. Re: Does anyone else get this? Or is it just me?

I have IBS that is a combination of constipation and diarrhea. Suffering from both of those regularly, I can safely say you can have d* without being sick. Even be hungry in the midst of or after...

Poll: Re: Did you throw up in 2014?

Nope, and I was around sick people very often. I see that will continue well into this first month and maybe more. *wipes brow after 2014... crosses fingers for 2015*

    Re: Emetophobia + driving anxiety.

I hear you! I start crying sometimes too. At times that has made me feel better for some reason but not always. I've tried calling people too and I think it makes it worse too. I feel a little less...

    Re: Grapejuice

I tried that method in the winter of 2013 and it was another year I avoided noro. I wouldn't say it was because of the juice, my hand washing persistence most likely to thank, but it can't hurt...

    Re: Emetophobia + driving anxiety.

    Thanks for the tips! :)

As of late, it's basically just when I'm in a car. Whether I'm driving, or it can be really bad when I have to ride in the back seat if someone else drives. I feel really...

    Re: Emetophobia + driving anxiety.

Thanks everyone. :) I figured I couldn't be alone on this.

I'm trying to just focus on deep breathing when both driving or when stopped at lights or signs. It kinda helps (well, a lot, when in...

    Emetophobia + driving anxiety.

Hello to all! I haven't been here for a very long time, which spoke of my progress at at least deflating the severity of emet.

But I'm back, sadly because it has found a new way to trap and...
  9. What do you think this weird mix of symptoms is? :/

    Hi all!

Today I realized at about 3 o'clock that I hadn't eaten anything, just had coffee and water. No appetite, some stomach pain and nausea.

I started to feel hungry but nothing sounded good...

Re: New here/A little help, please

I like that! That you feel stronger spelling them out entirely.
It is sometimes defeating to shorthand the words/terms... it gives them too much power. But I understand people are sensitive to it at...

    Re: Guess what? I'm back.

I'm not aware of what happened, but welcome back! I'm sure your honesty is valuable here.
  12. Re: What does your panic attack feel like - signs and symptoms

    Yep! Me too!
I go in phases sort of. Usually when I have a lot to do and have to be out and about often, I don't eat much at all. I can get pretty light-headed and dizzy (not spinning dizzy but...
  13. Re: What does your panic attack feel like - signs and symptoms

Nausea, dry mouth, sometimes light-headed. My mind can really trick me into thinking I'm going to be sick when I'm having an anxiety attack... I feel it in my throat and stomach but it never happens...
  14. Re: What is the stupidest thing you've done because of your emet?

I agree with this also. It can be a crutch... and one that makes you even worse. Conversely, it can be very helpful.. but sometimes.. not so much.
  15. Re: What is the stupidest thing you've done because of your emet?

    This! A million times over.
  16. Re: I took the bait and paid for this, so I want to share it with you guys.

Lool, Susan does have it rough.

Thank you for sharing! indeed interesting... don't know if I would try it... seems like a lot of work, haha. But it is really good to know in case I would want to...

    Re: Question about tattoos

I don't have one, but know a lot of people that do and they are always a-ok! It will be painful of course but if you have tolerance for that and want the tattoo enough to deal with it, you will be...

    Re: i think im dying

You really don't need any of us to tell you that you need to drink water, even if you don't feel like it. You know that you must, and you probably know that whether you want to go to the hospital or...
  19. Re: I'm determined to have more triumphs that I can share on this board!

    Yay!

Agree completely! It's just so important to make the first baby step into really trying.. you just have to start. We have to stop, uh, stopping ourselves from progress. Shooting ourselves in...
  20. I'm determined to have more triumphs that I can share on this board!

... and hope to see them from others too, because life really is too short for each of us to have ours destroyed by fear.

So! I'm going to try harder than before, with what remains of this year,...
  21. Re: More scared of nausea than of vomiting!!!!

I think that is the case for many! I don't feel completely sure myself.. .. it's been such a long time and I know that vomiting while incredibly gross is not really a painful or scary...

    Re: Precursor(s) to SV

It's been a long time for me also, so I was a kid when it happened and didn't really think about it or prepare for it of course like I do now.

but what I remember is that morning I was at church...
  23. Re: really really really really scared help please

Glad you're feeling better! D* always comes with my one really annoying, bad day of cramps during my period. How lovely and helpful when you already have sharp pain in your stomach. *snort*

    Re: Reasons you fear V*ing

Q1: What is it about V*ing that causes you the greatest distress?
    a) Being out of control of my body
    d) The smell/sight/sensation of it
    e) Belief that I won't be prepared for it
    ...
  25. To people who haven't v* in a long time, I have a question..

It has been 10 years for me and with so rarely ever coming close to it really happening, despite the hundreds of panic attacks and times of thinking "This is the day it will happen."

    I can...
