Everything's probably fine. When I was a kid, I used to eat them cold right out of the package. Look on the package, I do believe it states that they are fully cooked.

Omg!! I am so sorry you and the school has to deal with this! My thoughts are with all involved. I hope that no one in the car felt any pain or suffered.
