    Re: Influenza A

Sorry to hear you’re in this situation.
Yes, you can take Tamiflu at the onset of flu symptoms or following exposure to decrease the severity and length of symptoms. It is an anti-viral medication....

Re: To Antibiotics Work for Noro?

There is no doctor that would prescribe antibiotics for noro. So she is lying to you for some reason. Not knowing the situation, it’s hard to speculate as to why.

Re: I Hate This Time of Year :(

So long as you keep up with your hand hygiene, you are fine. Wiping your phone down with a disninfecting wipe nightly doesn’t hurt either. I work in a school and those two methods have worked just...
  10. Re: Noro "Epidemic" Has Hit My Small Town; Too Cold to Sleep Outside. Help?

Is there a friend or family member you could stay with for a couple of days if someone does get sick? I always have that plan in the back of my mind, too!

Re: Can I see my boyfriend?

Could he come to your place instead? As long as he showers, puts on fresh clothes, and wipes his phone with a disinfectant wipe, your chance of catching anything is minimal. I wouldn’t recommend...
  12. Re: I ate something really bad and now I'm so scared of being sick on Christmas

I don’t think two bites is going to seriously harm, let alone poison you. No need to take drastic measures.

    Re: Upper Abdominal Pain

It sounds like it could still be acid reflux. I suffer from this as well, and my GI doctor told me that although you may feel upper abdominal/chest pain, it’s often radiating from the stomach. Also,...

Re: Worst situation has come true

Amoxicillin is one of the most widely prescribed antibiotics due to its superior effectiveness and minimal side effects. I don’t think you have anything to worry about there.

I am not sure how this is linked to salmonella as you need to ingest contaimiated food for infection to occur ?

    Re: Antibiotics?

I used to take penicillin for infections until I became allergic a couple years ago. But for the 20 or so years I used that medicine, it never made me nauseous.

    Re: Family Member Fell Ill

Well, if he does not v or d then there is no way for you to get infected.
If he does, try to stay in your room as much as possible, visit a friend’s house, and use a separate bathroom than him.

    Re: Incubation period :(((((((
