I get nauseous purely from extreme anxiety too. But it can really feel like the real thing, not good. Stress brings it on.
I'm exactly the same. I thought that I was the only one who has developed this phobia for this reason opposed to having had a previously traumatic v@g experience.
Hi. As a mum myself (my children are now adults) based upon my own experience unfortunately I don't think there's any quick fix for this. Initially pregnancy will probably increase your anxiety, due...
how are you right now?
Hi I would say that I am pretty much over emet now. I had tried CBT previously with very limited success, I had resisted taking any medication previously due to an adverse reaction previously and...
I agree with the other members and feel that the ready prepared salad should be just fine. I often prepare a salad for lunch the night before and have never had any problems. As for the other...
Thank you x
Hi I've just got back from my holiday and managed my trip down without any anxiety at all, had some not so good moments on the way home but managed to keep it under control. But most of all I...
I totally agree with the other memers who advised trying antidepressants initially, the root cause is anxiety and if you can tackle that you will hopefully find that the anxiety is under control and...
I totally agree you should stick with it I have been taking antidepressants (Trazadone) since last September and it has turned my life around to the point that I would say I am pretty much cured. I...
Unfortunately avoidance behaviour will not help long term. It will only feed your anxiety. What you are describing is your anxiety taking over your life and controlling you, so you can't always do...
Just a thought, it is interesting that the most common age for onset appears to be 6-10yrs, that is when my emet started also
I can totally relate to your story, I am currently overcoming emet, and making great progress. Like you I no longer fear v*, it is just the thought of having a sv* and feeling ill that I don't want,...
So sorry not to have replied earlier, I take Trazadone, this is a newer type of anti depressant type medication that is known to have a sedating effect, so is particularly useful for anxiety. At the...
sorry for not getting back to you for some time, I've not revisted my post for a little while. For me CBT did not involve any direct exposure to v*, exposure from me just came mostly from having...
I think you are partly right in so far as the fear and anxiety take over the logical thinking, and you are also doing the right thing by challenging your thoughts into more logical ones. The fear...
I think you are definately taking steps in the right direction. Well done.
Turbokinetic your story is really inspirational, well done, I think you summed it up really well when you stated that you changed the way you think, that is really key to taking control of this fear....
Hi Loulou21 I have a success story to tell, I posted on the triumph board a few weeks ago and am happy to say things are still going well for me, try to stay positive an believe that one day you will...
I've not been through this personally but part of my job is to help people appeal against decisions made as a consequence of an ATOS medical. I know the whole ethos of ESA is to concentrate on what...
thank you Cynna, I hope that I continue to make progress and will stay in touch with the forum. How do I repost - is it just a case of copying into another section as a new thread?
many thanks for your support. I would just like to add that when my daughter was unwell the other day, I believe that what went through my mind was 'you've been here many times before and survived...

Maybe you are just not ready yet to confront your fear , but do try to stay positive and I hope that you do eventually feel in a better place. Please do not give up trying. Big...
Thanks for your positive and inspiring post.
I have posted a similar thread to this, and from reading your post you are describing how I feel. Like me you are ready to take control and stop being...
