    Re: Healthy and emet?

Get around this by sprouting your own at home from dried beans. It's really insanely easy. The normal "sprouts" are from mug beans, but you can also do alfalfa, clover, broccoli and a few others. You...

    Re: Healthy and emet?

Maybe start with cooked vegetables? For years I wouldn't eat salads because I was afraid they were contaminated. However, you can still eat vegetables.

Meat...I find red meat tends to be easier...

Re: Fears about my 5 Year Old

You don't KNOW she's going to get ill and v*.

This is just something kids do. The run around getting into every germy surface and stick their hands in their mouths. Does it result in illness?...

    Re: Spit?

That...is a new one for me.

I've seen plenty of people who carry about spit bottles, but it's because they dip.

Not judgement, though. We all have weird superstitions that stem from emet.
  5. Re: Freaked out and pissed off...had an endoscopy yesterday.

Hey guys. Had my procedure today. I was given propofol, and, at my request, Zofran.

I had somewhat of a weird experience waking up from anesthesia. Basically it was a semi-awake bad dream. I...

    Re: SV

    I think we all do.

I recently heard that staffers from California brought it to the RNC and it made me anxious. Not because I'm any where near Cleveland or, even if I were, would go to the RNC...I...

    Re: drinking?

I do drink, but so far have never v*ed from drinking or being hungover *knock on wood*.

From what I've heard v*ing from drinking tends to be because of excess stomach acid because alcohol...

    Re: Afraid of Laughter

    That's pretty unlikely.

I've laughed to so hard I've cried, peed a little, fallen over, and had my abdominal muscles start to hurt, but I never felt like I was going to v*.

    I wouldn't worry...
  9. Re: Freaked out and pissed off...had an endoscopy yesterday.

Vomiting from eye surgery? That's a new one to me. Not that I claim to know much about eye surgery. Either way that nurse...of all the damned stupid things to say!

Yeah their rules about rides are...
  10. Re: Freaked out and pissed off...had an endoscopy yesterday.

    Ugh, great!

I'm having a colonscopy in a few weeks, so this freaks me out! They're also using propofol, but from what I understand that's better than versed and demerol for nausea risk.
    I have a...

    Re: Public = anxiety

Not any specific instance that I know of. Maybe in the bathroom.

Not in a meeting, though, but that really doesn't help me. I start feeling an panic attack coming on, or my stomach hurts a little...

    Re: Public = anxiety

Oh, I was definitely worried about the girl at the wedding even with what her mother said. I just did acknowledge that, logically, she wasn't acting like she was sick.
Also it was 4 weeks ago, so...

    Oh dear God, Walmart!

As you can probably tell I've made strides in overcoming the fear of being in public due to emet, but Walmart is my version of hell! I've encountered v* so much at Walmart....

Hmm, okay well I stand corrected.

The thing about worse hygiene now that in the past doesn't make sense to me at all unless, as you said, it's accidentally from things like hand sanitizer and they...

I get a little nervous at health places which is ironic since I work across the street from a hospital, and regularly cross the skywalk to go the restaurants in said hospital!

    I don't get nervous...

    Re: Doctor and Advice

    Now a days?

    LOL!

I'm nearly 30, and my dad called school "the germ factory" when I was in elementary back in the 90s! School was no more hygienic when we were kids...I don't even need to know...
  18. Re: My hatred of babies and reproduction--not emet

    Le sigh.

I can relate to how you feel, and to the fact that you're getting some feedback that is a bit judgemental or just accidentally patronizing. It happens, especially to women who don't want...

    Re: Doctor and Advice

Razzle is right. It's been proven that kids who live in slightly dirtier homes, have pets, and are allowed to go play in the dirt, are healthier than kids who are raised in the closest their parents...
