In October, my fiance and I are driving from LA to SF and want to take the coast. Does anyone know of a website that gives driving directions for a scenic route? We have maps, but I thought we should back up the directions from another source. We don't have time to get lost : )

Hey! You can take highway 1 all the way, but it takes 10-11 hours as opposed to 6 hours on highway 5. Its a beautiful drive, and well worth the time at least once! But just a warning it is cuuuurrvy! I dont really have an answer for a website, but I have done that drive (on 1) at least 10 times. Let me know if you have any questions about certain areas. Its also nice if you can split it up into 2 days. Stay the night somewhere, I always stay at Pismo Beach. Another good stop is Hearst Castle in San Simeon.

I am so excited for you!

Hi There, you ought to try Google Earth, they have a good directions
service. They show you the complete route, the distance and even the
time it will take and you can print it. (By the way, Are you from L.A ?)

    I hope it will help.
