I went to bed at about 12am last night, felt fine, then all of a sudden my stomach started to hurt again, it keeps doing it on and off, my doctor told me its my ibs. So i feel alseep and then woke up at 3am, i was fine and went to get some water, came back and i started getting this horrible pain in my stomach, like a churning pain in the middle of my stomach, like hunger pain, but it was horriblw and made me feel really n*. I didn't know whether to eat something as it felt like extreme hunger, even though i had eaten a lot that day. So i tried going back to sleep and woke up heaving, in the end i was on the floor in pain heaving so i had to get my mum. I really have no idea what this is, would hunger do that to you??..I don't no whether to eat or not..even though im hungry and n* at the same time and my stomach is still off loike it has been for a month or so now..Edited by: xroofusx

hmm there is just something that is not quite right about this..

Have you ever had an upper GI??? i think you should get one.. i am a lil worried about you. I had pains like this and it was from an ulcer due to high stress and anxiety.

Was it more than 4 hours since you ate last??? hmm i dunno.. did you feel dizzy and light headed too? if so then it probably is from hunger.. if not it might be worse.. i think that you should go to a gastro specailist.. not just a doctor.. thats whati had to finally do.

Anyways.. sorry not much help but please take care!

It was about 5 hoyrs since i ate last night, i had no dizzy spells, it was just the pain and heaving. Its to explain the pain, it was like a churney gnawing pain in the center of my stomach. I have never had an upper GI, but thats for suggesting it. Thanks for the help.

    Hey Roofus,

That does sound like hunger to me.. I often get really sudden, strong hunger pains in the middle of my stomach.. it burns andfeels like they're 'digging in towards my back' if that makes sense. I get this urgent need to eat, and feel like if I don't i'll gag or heave. But I also think you should maybe go to a stomach specialist as Kristen said because you may well have damaged your stomach lining or digestive tract by not eating in the past or from your irregular eating patterns. It could also be an ulcer, my mom has one and she said she gets that digging in pain that feels like its pushing in towards your back.. but also with heartburn and indigestion?

I hope that helpsyou a bitand hope you're feeling better now too..

Hey thanks, yeah it could just be extreme hunger, so im making sure i eat more today to see if that does the trick and just put up with the ibs pains, as i would rather have that, then the pain last night. Im going to go to stomach specialist, i was talking to my mum about it and she said she would take me to be on the safe side to make sure nothings wrong. Thanks for your reply.

    Hey Ruth,
Yeah I too am kind of worried, I mean I'm not all sure what happens when you get into eating again (like how long it takes things to get back to normal), but maybe there is some underlying thing causing this.
An upper GI sounds like a good idea just to make sure things didn't get damaged or anything. Don't worry they can sedate you and possibly even knock you out fully to do so.

Babe, this is like your third post on this subject and I don't think there is any advice to be given that hasn't already been given out. You starved yourself for ages and now your stomach is suffering b/c you are eating, plus you are eating things like mcdonalds which is so hard to be processed. Go back to the Dr and the specialist and get it checked hun. No one here is a Dr, no one here can give you a 100% answer or reassurance that you need. I'm not trying to be harsh but this is something that is just beyond anyone being able to give you answers. Good luck honey, I really do wish you well.
