    Hi ya,

I am trying to find some independant help for curing my emetophobia. I have spoken with my GP (who thinks I am a freak!!), they have refered me to a counsellor. Finally had call from them...they had never heard of this before and where at a loss as to how to deal with it and have not contacted me since, that was about 3 months ago. I know the NHS are not known for the quick service but....

Any ideas on who I can contact?!?!? Am single mother in my 20's with a serious fund issue when it comes to cost!!

    Suggestions welcome.

    Thanks. xx

    Hey there-

Check out the treatment forum- there is a lot of info there- even print outs that you can bring IN to your counsellor. Also- they may not have heard of emetophobia, but they have likely heard of anxiety disorders, which is what emetophobia is. Try explaining it to them as an anxiety disorder, but revolving around this specific fear.

    Goodluck,

Yes, please do print out my article and give it to your doctor to read. It's on a sticky post at the top of this Treatments section.

    Good luck!
