I know this has been asked before I'm sure. I am being paranoid as usual but on friday night my niece spent the night and hung out with us all day saturday. This morning (wed.) my sister called and saidmy niece had the stomach flu. Now the last time I saw her was saturday so do you think I will be okay??? It has been about 4 days since we saw her. Any comments would be great!! Thanks Brandi.

The only way that you would get sick from her was from her poop.
On saturday. How old is your niece? I would say you are pretty much in
the clear. The only way it could have been transmitted would be if she
didnt wash her hands good and it was on them when she went to your
house and then you or your childerne would have to put it into your
mouth, eyes, or nose directly. I would say chances are slim...plus they
arent sure how long she is contagious before her symptoms show up. Like
I said. There is pretty much low to no chance you will get sick. Are
you worrying? That wont help. Just stay calm. Take care. Maybe clean
the house if your worried...but the bugs cant live very long outside
the body without a warm moist place...if you are going to clean use
bleach its the only thing that will kill it.
    I love Sam

Wouldn't we have already gotten sick cause they say you get sick within 24 to 48 hours of ingesting it. Right?

So long as you cleaned your house thoroughly (which I'm sure you did), then you would be "safe" 48 hours after you cleaned. Just cuz she's not there doesn't mean her germs aren't - and they're what get you sick, not her!

It would be good if everyone thoroughly bleached their houses when (esp. children) guests leave. Then if you get called 2 days later and find out they're sick you can be absolutely sure you won't get it.

Just an idea...any strategy to stay calmer!
