Are canned fruits and vegetables safer in terms of bacteria than fresh ones? What about frozen? Anyone know?

I think that canned are the safest, but that's just me..I almost never
eat fresh vegetables. I don't like the taste, but also I am afraid of
    the bacteria

I love vegetables and have never really thought about this before,

the only thing I would say is that after being boiled or steamed at 100c + I would be surprised if anything dodgywas still lurking ...... whether fresh, tinned or frozen!!

I know fresh fruit and veges are the most nutritious, followed by frozen, then canned. But that's only if they're safe to eat... I've never got sick from fresh produce, but have wondered what is safer to eat as well. I found this site- it might help a little, it's about fresh fruit and veges...

That probably doesn't help much, but it at least has some tips if you want to buy fresh stuff.

Yeah, I would rather go for the fresh stuff as well- as long as it's washed properly, which is pretty easy to do. I'm pretty dodgy about the spinach giving recent events- but I never really bought bagged spinach, mostly looseleaf organic stuff from my province, that there was never an issue with. I prefer to go to the farmers markets to pick up my produce- a lot of it is locally grown and organic.

Canned stuff has added salt/sugar, and preservatives. Eating canned fruit is almost like eating candy. The frozen stuff also always tastes dried out, and is not without it's preservatives.

After being boiled or steamed, yeah, but what if eating fresh just
washed? I am not sure how to wash the vegetables and fruit properly..I
always use hot water and dish washer, but is that enough?
