*I use the actual word V* and the slang for it*

Well, today at school after lunch I started to feel a little sick. I ate a chicken patty and it was the last thing I had thrown up(years ago)so I figured I was making myself feel nauseous. I went to Biology and tried not to think about it but I felt pretty low once I got there. Some stomach virus is going around school so I was getting a bit worried. I felt like everyone was looking at me because I looked like I was going to vomit. Obviously they weren't. So I just decided to say it out loud. I raised my had and when my teacher called on me(he's incredibly handsome by the way) I told him I felt like I was going to puke. He was like "Okay....was that a statement, or did you want to ask me something?" I found that quite amusing so I told him I was just letting him know. It felt good saying out loud. Nobody freaked out or told me I was nasty and nobody babied me either. It was no big deal, it was almost buisness-like. I didn't get sick but I did end up with a migraine which I think was the culprit.
Do any of you like to get it off your chest that you feel ill? I was confused why it felt good to say it out loud. Comments are always appriciated.

Maybe by saying it out loud you took the pressurre of yourself and that helped how you were feeling?!?!

I dont ever say that, i tendto say things like,"my belly is giving me major grief" or (excuse the expression)"ive been having bum troubles", which my hubby fomnds amusing but I just basically dont like saying I feel ill.

Maybe it wasn't so much saying it out loud but the response you got from
everyone?
Of course if I had been in your class, I would have looked like a deer in
headlights!

Wow - honestly, I don't think I could do that. If I ever heard my own voice announce that I was going to get sick, then that in some way would be confirming it, which would make me even more scared. In my entire life, I've never once gave a heads-up that at any moment I was going to do the deed. I've always kept it private in my thoughts, and times when I have done it, I've said it at the very last possible second.

Good job! I bet it felt nice to get it off your chest. =)

Thanks for the replies. I guess I did feel proud that I said it. I could have huggedmy teacherfor not freaking out! I sort of felt like if it's going to happen it's going to happen and it shouldn't be on the floor.

I agree---I cannot bring myself to say or admit to anyone that I'm feeling ill. I'm so, so glad I'm not the only one that does this! Even when I've felt really awful I've kept it to myself because I always think that if I actually say it out loud I actually am or will be s*ck. Like if I feel n* and tell someone, I'll v* afterwards. If I don't say it, I'll be okay.
I know, doesn't really make sense but it works for me!!

Yeah, I guess it's quite different for everyone. I just felt like it was a step in the right direction to be able to put me and vomit in the same idea. Meh, maybe I'm losing it. Haha.

I used to have a lot of trouble admitting to friends that I felt sick. They know and are fine with my phobia so its not that, but it was more that I would be jinxing myself or really have to face the reality of it outloud, like someone else said that would make it feel like the nausea was a lot more serious.

Now I am better at it to a degree. I can say I feel like p*ing and its more of a figure of speech now. I think I just realized people say it all the time and its no big deal to say that to other people.
