Got an idea. All we talk about is our phobia and problems usually. I
wanna know who everyone is, aside from the phobia. Because thats
    certainly not our best side.

What do you do/want to do for a living? How old are you? What hobbies/likes/interests do you have? Whereabouts are you from?

Im 20, live in northern Michigan, and Im going to NMC for college
right now to get a degree in fine arts. I then want to transfer to get
a different degree that has to do with being outdoors. I like art,
animals, exploring, traveling, reading, shopping , and eating good
    food/sweets

    So who are you?

EDIT: Woops everyones mentioning their significant other.. in that
case, Im also with my boyfriend of 2 years and we are an odd couple hahaha

I am also scared of spiders and for a totally uninteresting fact, I HATE vinegar and mayonnaise but I love chocolate and broccoli (not together obviously!!)I have 4 brothers and no sisters and would love a little baby!

I also love everyone on here! You're all great!Edited by: cwarren

    Cool idea!
Ok, my name is Hannah I just turned 14 and I live just outside London with my parents and 2 younger sisters. My favourite lesson is English because I looooove to read! And my least favourite lesson is IT because my teacher is a cow and I am really bad at it (Mrs Wooler, if you're reading this: I'm sorry but you truly are a cow) My favourite food of all time is pasta and my favourite book is whichever one I happen to be reading. So at the moment it's "Lovely Bones" When I am grown up I would like to be a teacher forprimary 2 or something but I know that emet is going to stop me from doing that so I will have to find a job that involvesvery few people. Maybe selling things over the phone from home? *sigh* Boringness.Edited by: x hannah x

    I'm Jack, 21.

Right now I'moutside ofEdmonton, Alberta living with my girlfriend but since I can't stand it here much longer, I'm probably going to move back home to penticton B.C. It's just way too cold, flat, dismal, and isolated where I am. I'm unemployed right now, but before that I worked as a 411 operator...before that, I worked on cars. I'm going to find work in private security, and eventually get to be a private investigator. Of course, this is all just a backup for if I can't get a decent band together! The main important thing to me is playing guitar. It comes before everything else.
what a horrible night to have a curse.

I enjoy reading, swimming, tennis, dancing (latin american) and I love music so much! I listen to it 24/7. I'm a great Harry Potter fan and another big hobby of mine is creative writing - whether its short shories or novel length stuff. I'm a computer geek too.

I'm currently at 6th form but will continue my education next year by studying either Psychology or English Literature at university. After that... who knows?

Hi! I'm Nira 16 year old Finnish girl.
I live in the capital city Helsinki.
I love music.. and actually music is my life. only thing that keeps me alive. I play guitar and I used to play piano too but not anymore.

I have a lot of dreams to chase and I'm going to USA next summer for a year so that's something what I'm really lookin forward to and for sure I'm a little worried how this emetophobia effects to my future coz it has effected a lot as far.

I have four hamsters and I used to have 6 but now two of those are died. And I had two cats but only one is living now.

I've played 7 years basketball but not anymore coz school takes a lot of time.

I don't have a bf coz I desiced a year ago that it's easyer for me to leave this place if nobody doesnt stay here crying and that I don't have to cry coz I left someone.

So that's all that comes to my mind now. basicly I could've just write here music coz it's all about me.Edited by: mad scientist
V******* is ok as far as I don\'t know anything about it.

    My turn!

I'm Allyson, 21 years old from New Hampshire, USA. I just graduated from university with a degree in Business Administration and a speciality in International Business and Information Technology and have started looking for a job full time. When I'm not working, I enjoy playing every kind of sport there is. Among my favorites are soccer, softball, mountain biking, hiking, swimming, golfing, and I have found a love for tennis! I also ADORE music though I can't play it if my life depended on it. I also travel all around to see my favorite musician, Sheryl Crow. In fact, I'm flying on a plane for the first time in almost 10 years to see her this weekend in Atlantic City, NJ! I have a boyfriend, Brian 23, whom is a great guy. He really understands my anxieties and assures me all the time that things will be ok!!

My favorite line is 'Seems like everytime I try to make it right it all comes down on me..please say honestly you won't give up on me....and I shall believe' which is a line from the song 'I Shall Believe' by Sheryl!! I suppose that's all for now!

    Thanks again, Steph!
    Peace,
    Allyson

I'm Heather from Akron, Ohio (actually Brimfield, but nobody has a clue where that is...it's so small it doesn't even have its own post office.) I am 24 years old and married to a wonderful man named Eric. We will have our second anniversary this October.

In high school, I fell in love with music. I ate, slept, and breathed music and wanted to major in it (I played trumpet for eight years and dabbled a bit with the piano and joined the handbell choir in church and sang in the choir), but I felt there was no future for musicians, so I foolishly went down other paths, which I now regret. I wentto college off and on for5 years, but was unable to finish, because my dad (who payed for my college) fell ill last year with a brain tumor, couldn't afford to pay my tuition and I couldn't get a loan, grant, or scholarship to finish. But enough of that sob story.

I am currently unemployed, due to emet and anxiety complications, but soon I hope tobe well enough to get a real job, and help my husband withrunning his own business.

Someday, I would love to have kids of my own, but for now,I justhave a beautiful 19 month old niece, whom I love dearly.

And that's my life in a nutshell.

k, I'm Susan (Elizabeth is my middle name), and I'm 39. I live in a suburb just north of Toronto (Canada) and I work in communications in public health. I have a great husband who's completely supportive, a beautiful hilarious 5 year-old daughter (oops, she's five-and-a-quarter now, and i'd better not forget it), and I'm in my 7th month with #2. I am the youngest in a family of 6 siblings and we're all ridiculously close, and i adore my mother too (father's another story).

I've been at unbelievably low points with my emet, where i couldn't leave the house and couldn't work, but somehow, with the help of family, friends and eventually the hubby, managed to get through a BA and a Master's degree. I've had a great therapist for three years and he's helped me make so much progress it's unreal. For the most part, I have a completely normal life, though emet does still get in the way now and again, but still, life is good.

I love to read and can't wait for my book club meeting tonight. that's about it.

I'm Mica and I'm a 24 year old middle school English teacher from North Carolina. I like to shop (a little too much) and read, and I'm a little too obsessed with skin care right now. I'm also spending way too much time on www.makeupalley.com at the forums and reading product reviews. I play video games a lot now, thanks to my dear significant other, and I'm hooked on amplitude for the playstation 2. (Thanks a lot, Matt.)

I'm 5'10 and I have brown hair (that I just cut drastically!!) and blue eyes. I'm freaked out right now because in a couple of days, I'm moving 4 hours away to teach at a new school! Wish me luck- by the way this is a really interesting thread!)

I'm Ashley and I'm 16 years old and from the US. Right now I have a part time job at Pet Supplies Plus which is a pretty fun place to work. I walked in knowing very little about animals and here I am three months later and I've learned ALOT. I would like to become a licensedprofessional counselor one day. But thats only if I can get my GED. Homeschooling sucks. Anyone want to tutor me in math? Will pay you. LOL. And I'm being serious!

Umm my hobbies are animals. I love collecting leopard stuff. My whole room is done in a leopard theme. I'm obsessed with astronomy. Walking outside and looking up at the stars interests me so much. I hope to geta telescope soon and a good camera so I can take pictures.

    Thats about it.

Hi Stephen, from the mountains of West Virginia, I am 30 (31 on the 27 of August), have a son named Andrew, and a wife named Rachel. The boy is 9, and the wife is lovely.

I am a steel worker, nice and hot in there. My new favorite show is Rescue Me, my favorite movie is Goodfellas, and I love to draw, took it up at a very young age, and haven't stopped since.

This is an EXCELLENT idea!! I'm having a wonderful time reading all about you guys!!!!

My name's Neha.I am 19 years old and am in college studying to be aSpanish teacher. I am currently, or should I say chronically single. LOL! Anyway,I was born in Victoria, British Columbia andIgrew up in a small town near Edmonton, Alberta.PROUD CANADIAN, YES I AM!!!!As my name suggests, I am Indian, and damn proud of it!!!! My family and I moved to Texas when I was 10 and I've lived here ever since. I used to be a tomboy in Canada, because I would mostly hang out with the boys (so hard to imagine myself as a tomboy because I am such a girlie girl nowlol!) But don't get me wrong, I still broke out the Barbies and played dress upwhenever I could!!! TRUST ME!!!! Anyway, having those three cultures in me has of course helped shape the person who I am today as well as enriched my life.

I love art!! I would consider myselfVERY artistic!! I love everything from drawing to painting, tophotography to just plain arts and crafts...if it has to do with art, I love it!!! I am no Van Gogh or Picasso...not even close, but I do enjoy art, and I think that's what is most important!! I also enjoy reading. I am a bookwork. And I love to write. I have a VERY VERY VERY colorful imagination, I guess you could say!! I always have had an imagination that was larger than life. LOL! I guess thathas contributed some to my insanity!!I hope to someday publish acollection of short stories or if I am lucky, a novel! I have so many ideas that I'd like to share with other people and so many stories to tell! I'm not very athletic, but my best sports are $hopping and channel surfing!! I'm an expert at both!!! Especially channel surfing!! I LOVE to watch TV!!!! The Sims is my all time favorite computer game by the way! (That was so random!) I'm very random by the way.

As I said before, I'm a bit looney...okay, I'm a lot looney, but I think it makes life a heck of a lot more interesting that way!! Who wants to be normal, right? How boring!!

I love to laugh...it's the best medicine, right?? I am just like a little kid! I don't think I've grown up yet! I love watching cartoons and just doing kid stuff! (They know how to have fun!)

Oh, and if you can't tell by now, I can rattle on and on and on....I'm a chatterbox!!

So that's me in a nutshell (A kind of play on words because I am severlyallergic to peanuts)

I've loved reading about you all, so here's a bit about me:

I'm Jill, 36 (just) and live with my partner of 9 years and my 12 year old daughter (and best friend) in Leeds, UK.

After leaving school I was a student nurse for 2 years, then I got ME and had to leave. After 6 months to recover, I retrained in office work, then landed a job as the lab technician at my old high school. I was supposed to 'tide me over' tills omething else came up, but I stayed almost 14 years! Then I got a promotion to senior technician at a school closer to home. After 9 months (never really settled in), I got the chance to change my career completely, and I now work for a train operating company producing timetables and information posters, and loving it. There's so much to learn - no-one who just travels on trains can have any clue what goes on behind the scenes!

Hobbies-wise, I like needlework (anything with counted threads), knitting and reading Discworld novels. I also like playing board games with my daughter, and have finally persuaded my partner to take up camping (can't wait for next spring so we can go) - I camped a lot from being 12 until I got divorced from my daughter's biological fatherin 1994 and loved it. I am studying with the Open University (biology and chemistry), but my change of job has made me lose some of the enthusiasm for the work (I was working on a degree so that I could teach Science). Maybe if I have a year off, the enthusiasm will return, but right now I would rather spend my weekends and evenings with my family and friends than with my nose in a text book!

This website has been an enormous help to me, and just knowing I am not alone and that I can always find support here if I need it has reduced by emet-related anxiety hugely. Thank you all.

    Best wishes, Jill xxx
